Welcome to the second volume of "Community (Treasure)Chest" by EC3D!

This project brings you 3D printable STL files for support-free miniatures and terrain/scatter elements to enrich your gaming experience. This series also takes a unique angle on the market, and charitable giving. 

How is this different than a Kickstarter or traditional crowd-funding?

• 40% of raised funds is donated to charity! (more on that below)
• The entire set is priced as "pledge-what-you-can", minimum $5. 
• The unlocked STL files are available right away for you to print - no waiting!
• The campaign will run for 21 days, and there will be no late pledge option - items will be packaged and sold at retail pricing on HerosHoard.com after funding period.
• Backers also receive a 15% coupon code for Cephalopod Studios "Cuddlefish colors" paints (check em out)

I have run several successful Kickstarter campaigns and other projects, and am always a bit saddened when I hear that folks cannot afford to participate due to limited funds or life situations. 3D printers are expensive to get going as well. I wanted to offer some high-quality sets that EVERYBODY could get their hands on. Also, with the current global health and financial situation, lots of folks don't have much in the way of disposable income.

The minimum is $5 - but the final retail price of this set in my store after the 3 week campaign will be $30-40 or more. My hope is that those who can afford to pledge more will choose to do so ($10, $20, etc... whatever you feel is fair). This project had substantial time and cost investments to get off the ground, but I feel it's our duty to pay it forward!

If you are in a tough financial spot, running a game for kids or charity, or just don't feel like spending more than $5, then by all means get in for $5. If you have the means to pledge more, appreciate the quality and contents of this set, want to see more like this in the future, and love charitable giving, please pledge as much as you are willing!

If you decide to pledge $20 or more you will also receive - free of charge - the files from Volume 1 of this series.

I sure did! 40% of the entire revenue from this project, calculated as total $ raised minus cost of Fundrazr hosting platform (5%), minus cost of card transaction fees (3% + $.30 each), will be donated to charity. For Volume 2 we will be donating to the awesome charity Doctors Without Borders (https://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/) which helps keep families healthy and safe all across the globe - and they have serious need in this time of the global health crisis!

Accountability for giving: At the conclusion of this project I will make the donation from the project funds, and publicly share (and update this page) with the receipt from the charity to confirm the donation on our behalf.

This project features a complete set of support-free minis (suitable for resin or FDM printing), terrain/scatter to bring your table to life, props that the DM can use to give/interact with the players, and full-color comic intro page for the encounter.

The theme of Volume 2 of the "Community (Treasure)Chest" Series is focusing on the a troupe of wandering, nomadic entertainers - singers, dancers, performers, fortune tellers, and more. But.. they harbor a dark secret in their midst. The 3D models include the troupe, all the terrain to set the scene, and more!

MINIATURES

Miniatures are ~30-32mm scale (similar to Reaper Bones) and are designed to print support-free on resin and FDM printers. They have a high level of detail and are a blast to print and paint! We start our journey with some of the core members of the troupe, then will later meet more of the troupe, some of their animal companions, and face their dark secret.

My friends over at Vae Victus Miniatures also included a model for all backers to print as well, which is from their last month's Patreon release and is a perfect addition to the troupe!

SCATTER TERRAIN / SCENERY

The stage must be set - and this terrain will help you do just that! You'll be able to setup the traveling troupe's camp in a clearing - with threes, wagons, and more. Every item - with the exception of the trees - is sliced to fit on resin and FDM printers (including smaller resin print beds), and prints 100% support-free and very highly detailed.

INTRO COMIC

I figured why the hell not try adding even more cool media to the gameplay experience, right!? This awesome comic intro is a one-page design that you can share digitally or print to give players to intro them to the Crimson Troupe. It's designed to reflect the minis/terrain that's included in the set, and is a generic "encounter intro"  that can be shared before or during a session to introduce another fun element to the gameplay. People really enjoyed the comic in Volume 1 and I'm excited to be doing another for Volume 2!

There are many awesome stretch goals for this project! You can see them all listed below. Most of the models are ready and will be added to the Dropbox link right as they are unlocked, so you can start printing them right away. 

You can increase your pledge amount at any time to help unlock more of these!  Keep an eye on this section, and campaign updates for more info as the ball gets rolling, and help share the project to get the word out and unlock even more cool stuff! As goals are unlocked, please be patient and give me a day or two to get things updated.

LICENSING / COMMERCIAL PRINTING

Backing this project gives you personal license to use these models to print for your own personal use. You cannot distribute, modify, or sell them in any capacity without explicit consent from EC3D. If you wish to sell physical prints of these files commercially, they are eligible for the EC3D/Hero's Hoard Licensing Program. (Please note, the mini from Vae Victus is excepted from this, and is not available for commercial purposes through this project)

FILE DELIVERY

Files will be delivered to you in a download link via automated email as soon as you back the campaign. The download link will be a custom code to access a Dropbox folder. As new unlocks are hit, if the files are ready they will be added to the Dropbox folder and available right away. The comic is still a work-in-progress but will be ready before the 21 day campaign is finished, and also added to the Dropbox folder.

PLEASE NOTE  - you will receive a generic "thank you" email from Fundrazr, then another one from evan@mail.ec3d.desgin with the download link. That second email can take up to 60 minutes to arrive after your pledge, due to a small delay in payment processor (which triggers the email). We had a few deliverability issues with emails in the first volume but I'm hoping I have that all sorted out now. If you do back the project though, and do NOT have an email within 24 hours, just shoot me a note to evan@ec3d.design and we'll get it sorted.

DISCLAIMER AND PRINTING REQUIREMENTS

These files are designed to work on most common 3D printers but a well-tuned printer, and knowledge of printing, will allow you to get the most out of these models. EC3D has made and distributed thousands of high-quality, easy to print models - but is not responsible for the quality you yourself are able to achieve with your individual printer. Additionally, please note that due to the design limitations, there are many tiny overhangs throughout the leaves of the trees, and the trees are not suitable for printing in resin without additional supports - everything else is designed to print perfect in resin though. 

The nature of support-free models is such that occasionally a small island/overhang is missed in the models during the model process - making models support-free is a very tedious, manual process in modeling software. In most cases, those overhangs will not matter for FDM printing, but in some cases can impact resin printing. Usually those tiny islands will never cause any issues for resin printing as well, but if they are discovered we will fix/remedy and upload new versions to the dropbox as needed.

ARE THERE ANY RISKS TO THIS PRODUCT NOT DELIVERING?

In short - NO. The main models, and many of the planned stretch goals, are already done.

WHO THE HECK IS THIS EC3D OUTFIT ANYWAY?

EC3D is a design/modeling company started by myself (Evan Carothers) to make models for tabletop games.
