Where Sound Becomes Form... And Frequency Becomes Consciousness!

With deep gratitude, we are honored to share that ALUNA has been awarded a Burning Man 2026 Honoraria Grant.

This recognition means the world to us. It gives ALUNA a place in Black Rock City, but it does not complete the journey. To bring this 12-foot interactive sculpture from Colombia to the desert, we need the support of friends, Burners, artists, builders, dreamers, and everyone who believes that art can awaken consciousness.

Created by Tixana and Santiago, partners in life and in art, ALUNA was born from our shared love for Colombia, ancestral knowledge, culture, and human consciousness. Their love is the force carrying it from vision into manifestation.

ALUNA turns sound into living geometry. It invites participants to touch frequency, shape water, and witness the invisible becoming visible.

ALUNA was born to be shared, not just seen. With your support, we can carry this work more than 4600 miles from Colombia to the playa. From there, its story continues thousands of miles more, returning to the land that inspired it: the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, where it can continue awakening awareness and honoring the ancestral origin that gave it life.

Make the Invisible Visible

ALUNA is part sculpture, part live instrument, part ritual space...

Inspired by Aluna, the Tayrona invisible realm where thought and intention take shape, the work invites participants to change frequency and energy in real time. Water responds. Patterns appear. Sound becomes visible.

In dialogue with this year’s Burning Man theme, Axis Mundi, ALUNA reimagines the axis as a living conduit between water, sound, frequency, and consciousness.

The installation becomes a living portal between the seen and unseen worlds, a place where participants do not simply observe art, they it to life.

The visitor is not just a spectator... The visitor becomes a Co-Creator!

The Experience

ALUNA invites participants to become co-creators. By tuning sound frequencies and energy levels, each person activates the water inside the sculpture, generating living cymatic patterns in real time. These patterns are captured and transformed into light, sound, and holographic visuals, turning vibration into a shared field of experience.

Each interaction becomes a meditation on resonance: how frequency shapes matter, how intention and words affect the body and the space around us, and how the invisible becomes visible. 

9,800+ Miles: From Origin to Desert and Back 

The Honoraria Grant is an essential seed, but it does not cover the full journey. To bring ALUNA to the playa, we must build, program, test, pack, ship, transport, install, power, maintain, and safely remove a large-scale interactive sculpture traveling more than 4,600 miles from Colombia to Black Rock City.

And the journey does not end there. ALUNA will continue another 5,200 miles back to the land that inspired it: the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Nearly 9,800 miles in total, from origin to desert and back home, so this work can become a living symbol of awareness, ancestral memory, and cultural awakening for Colombia.

From the Heart of the World to Black Rock City

ALUNA carries ancestral memory and contemporary Colombian creativity into Black Rock City with respect, gratitude, and responsibility.

Inspired by the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, known as the Heart of the World by its Indigenous peoples, ALUNA honors the wisdom of the Kogui, Arhuaco, Wiwa, and Kankuamo communities. Its intention is not to consume symbols, but to open space for visibility, learning, and future reciprocity.

Gold has always lived inside Colombia’s imagination, from the myth of El Dorado to the ancestral goldwork of the Sierra Nevada. In ALUNA, gold is not a symbol of extraction, but of memory, transformation, and sacred light.

After the desert, our intention is to bring this story back to Colombia through cultural, educational, and territory-connected initiatives.

We Have Done This Before!

In 2023, our team brought YULUKA, The Duality to Black Rock City as a Burning Man Honoraria artwork, successfully navigating the full journey of large-scale desert art.

Rooted in the Tayrona worldview, YULUKA took form as a two-headed caiman, embodying the balance born from the harmony of opposites: life and death, light and darkness, feminine and masculine, held not in conflict, but in harmony.

That experience taught us what it takes to bring a complex vision to life on the playa. ALUNA continues that journey with deeper interactivity, science, cultural memory, and long-term purpose.
