with love by the co-creator of the piece, iyvone Khoo.
So, what are we making this year?
An ancient portal structure is found in the desert.
How does it work?
How did it get here?
Is it Chinese or is it Mayan?
Perhaps it is a portal or a spaceship that links both cultures through time and space.
This piece explores the similarities between the
Mesoamerican and the Chinese cultures.
A Moment in an Aeon,
searches for parallels between ancestral cultures.
Their
personification of natural phenomena and anthropomorphic
mythical creatures denotes a deep connection with their
environment and their views of the cosmos.
Perhaps a way to
seek a dialogue with the forces of creation and being.
Were
they communicating to us inexpressible cosmic forces or spiritual
development?
Or the underlying reality of our connection with
nature?
The path into the piece denotes a spiraling journey
within to search for our true selves
and our eternal duality
between the masculine and the feminine.
