They're Creepy!
They're Spooky!
They're Back!
The Addams Family is back in a brand, new legacy sequel that will give audiences the same nostalgia and dark humor that we remember picking up that VHS for the 15th time at Blockbuster!
The family that puts the "fun" in "funeral" is here and ready with a story that is so great it'll wake the dead!
So dust off your favorite gothic outfit. Take a seat in our electric chair and maybe even dance the Mamushka! The Addams Family: Dark Horizons is officially happening!

What the Story?
It’s Gomez Addams' 60th birthday. The candles are lit, the casket is ready, and the eulogy's been rehearsed in three languages. Then he ruins it—by not dying. Or worse, almost dying. A heart attack threatens to do what no firing squad or love triangle ever could: make him feel mortal.
Gripped by an existential malaise, Gomez sets out on a cross-country odyssey with Morticia, Fester, and Lurch to exhume the family's forgotten haunts and wake up the macabre magic of their youth. Meanwhile, Wednesday, now a weaponized executive in a soulless corporate machine, wages psychological warfare in a building where the true monsters wear ID badges.
And beneath the cemetery soil, something stirs. A hand. A game. A reckoning.

⚰ Why This Film?
Let us clarify one thing, lest the spirits of past adaptations rise in protest: Dark Horizons is not here to steal the thunder—or the moonlight—from any incarnation of The Addams Family that has come before. We come in peace, with poison cocktails. We tip our mourning veils to the black-and-white originals, the animated experiments, the Raul Julia and Anjelica Huston era of elegant lunacy, and yes—even the cello-scored chaos of the hit streaming series Wednesday. We’re not competing—we’re composting. Cultivating the strange soil that’s already been gloriously tilled.
Of all the haunted projects and twisted tales we’ve conjured at Laughing Hearse Entertainment, Dark Horizons may be the most personal. This isn’t just a tribute—it’s a blood pact. A film born from decades of loving the macabre, of idolizing the misunderstood, of growing up feeling more at home in crypts than classrooms.
We know some may scoff and ask, “Why do a fan film? Why not make something original?” To that we say—we do. Our coven of films includes a long stream of original shorts and features, some of which are in post, others still clawing their way out of the grave. But this? This one… this is a love letter. To a time, a feeling, a family.
Do you remember how you felt when Raul Julia dipped Anjelica Huston mid-tango? When Marc Shaiman’s score wrapped you in gothic splendor so vintage, it felt eternal? When chaos reigned, piranhas swam, and yet at its heart, the story was about loving your darkness—not fearing it? That’s what Dark Horizons is here to honor. Not replicate—resurrect.
The Addamses aren’t just spooky or quirky. They are the mirror held up to the hypocrisies of polite society. The ones who remind us to laugh at grief, toast to tragedy, and wear our weirdness like a badge of honor.
Dark Horizons is not a parody, nor a sanitized reboot. It is a solemn whisper in the crypt, a thunderous laugh from beyond the grave. It’s the Addamses, older and unhinged, mourning the world they once haunted—and preparing to haunt it again.
If you’ve ever smiled at a tombstone, toasted with poison, or wanted to be kissed like it might kill you—this is your film.

Is This FIlm Special? YOU BET IT IS!
This isn’t some cheap Addams knockoff. This is a surreal, sharply written, nostalgia-soaked sequel-that-should-have-been. We’re aging up the characters in a way that’s authentic, theatrical, and absurdly on-brand. Dark Horizons is about what it means to keep your soul strange in a world that tries to "normalize" everything.
It’s part comedy, part tragedy, part Mamushka—and 100% Addams.
And we’re not just fans playing dress-up—we know films. At Laughing Hearse Entertainment, we’ve produced and financed a range of original projects and fan films alike. Most recently, we unleashed The Mask: Gone Viral—a full-scale sequel fan film to The Mask (yes, the Jim Carrey one). It’s since earned critical acclaim for its visual effects, bold script, and standout casting.
This isn’t our first séance. We’ve done the work. We’ve built the sets. We’ve paid the price—in time, money, and sleepless nights. Dark Horizons is a film for those who still believe cinema can be weird, theatrical, and wildly out of step with reality—and wouldn’t have it any other way.

Our Budget Plan (The Doubloons)
We’re making The Addams Family: Dark Horizons as a feature-length fan film—a true continuation of the world we first fell in love with in the ‘90s, but with fresh eyes and a grown-up sense of humor (and dread). This isn’t a studio-backed reboot with a marketing team and a Hollywood budget—it’s a homegrown production built by creatives who know how to stretch a dollar and still make it look like a million bucks (or at least a few eerily flickering candles).
Our goal? To achieve this vision at the lowest realistic cost possible while still delivering a sharp, funny, and visually polished film. We know what matters most: strong performances, a strong concept, and capturing that specific Addams energy—eerie, elegant, and just a little off.
Below is a breakdown of how we plan to allocate our funds. Whether we raise $5,000 or $15,000, every cent will go toward making sure this feels like the next great Addams adventure.
A fan film built on shadows, spirit gum, and sheer determination!
Goal: $8,000 – $12,000
Shoot Length: 7–10 Days
We’re not asking to exhume the entire family crypt—just enough to open the coffin lid and roll cameras. This is a bare-bones plan: streamlined, spooky, and designed for success. If we raise more, we’ll haunt harder. But here’s how we can make it work at the lowest possible level of dark magic:
🎬 PRODUCTION
($4,000 – $5,000)
The bones and bolts of our 7–10 day shoot.
-
Camera & Gear Rentals – $1,000

Wardrobe + FX makeup for 5–6 key characters. (this will be the fun part) -
Transportation & Meals – $1,500
Fuel, U-Haul, and basic meals/snacks to keep the crew alive. (being alive is good, save the macabre for the movie)
🧛 CAST & CREW

For our essential ghouls and behind-the-scenes monsters.
-
Cast Stipends – $750
Modest stipends or travel costs for lead performers. -

Turning footage into the dark, beating heart of the film.
-

DIY or low-cost polish for dialogue and SFX. -
Color Grading / VFX – $250
Addams tones + light effects. -
Score (Original or Royalty-Free) – $250
Dark waltzes and vintage tension on a budget.
📣 PROMOTION & PERKS
($500 – $1,000)
No press tour—just reels, rewards, and a sinister bow.
-
Promo Art / Social Content – $250
Posters, trailers, behind-the-scenes shots. -
Crowdfunder Merch / Digital Perks – $250–$750
Stickers, digital posters, and ghoul-grams for backers.
🧠 CONTINGENCY
($200 – $500)
Because something will break or bleed unexpectedly.
⚰️ TOTAL GOAL:
$8,000 (minimum resurrection) – $12,000 (fully conjured fan film)
Every crypt coin counts. The more we raise, the deeper we go—from basic black-and-white gothic comedy to full-color chaos with custom props and sharper effects.

Geordy Skolnick

Creative Director of Laughing Hearse Entertainment
Geordy Skolnick is an award-nominated actor, director, writer, producer, and comedian with over 13 years in the industry—born from the grit and magic of Manhattan stages and Bronx sidewalks. As the founder and creative director of Laughing Hearse Entertainment, Geordy leads a horror-based production company dedicated to blending morbid aesthetics with unexpected humanity, turning the dark into something cinematic, cathartic, and sometimes hilarious.
Raised in the Bronx during the ‘90s and shaped by personal battles with depression and anxiety, Geordy found purpose through performance and storytelling—creating twisted tales that gave voice to the outcast, the haunted, and the misunderstood. Influenced by filmmakers like Tim Burton, Martin Scorsese, Mel Brooks, Noah Baumbach, Ed Wood, and Al Adamson, Geordy continues to walk the line between the theatrical and the heartfelt. He also credits his time performing at Blood Manor, New York’s legendary haunted attraction, as one of the earliest training grounds for building bold, immersive worlds.
In recent years, Geordy has expanded his creative reach through fan films and original indie projects. His 2024 surreal dark comedy short, Madame Dietrich, follows a neurotic psychic in Brooklyn who becomes possessed by a ghost looking for revenge—a twisted meditation on grief, absurdity, and legacy that blends camp with spiritual horror.
Shortly after, Geordy tackled a feature-length fan sequel with The Mask: Gone Viral, a wildly ambitious follow-up to the 1994 Jim Carrey classic. Funded with over $7,000 raised independently, the film received praise for its practical effects, bold script, and inventive performances—solidifying Geordy's place as a filmmaker who delivers even when the odds are stacked against him.
Now, with The Addams Family: Dark Horizons, Geordy returns to the shadows—armed with the tools, team, and tenacity to resurrect a new chapter in a world he grew up loving. This isn’t about cashing in. It’s about carving out a space for strange hearts and macabre minds in the world of independent cinema.

One Last Whisper from the Crypt...
If you’ve made it this far, it means the strange calls to you too.
The Addams Family: Dark Horizons isn’t just a fan film—it’s a carefully constructed resurrection. A surreal, macabre, and absurdly heartfelt sequel that dares to ask: what happens when the weird grow older, and the world grows colder?
We aren’t a studio. We’re a team of fiercely passionate indie filmmakers, horror lovers, and misfits with a vision. We've already proven it can be done—The Mask: Gone Viral was made on sheer will, chaos, and over $7,000 in fan support. And now, we’re digging even deeper with this one.
By contributing to this campaign, you're not just helping us make a movie. You're keeping alive a legacy of bold, theatrical weirdness that shaped a generation—and still has so much more to say.
With your help, Dark Horizons will be shot in 2026 and ready to rise from the grave in 2027.
So grab your shovels. Lace up your funeral shoes. And let’s make something together that’s so good…it’ll wake the dead.
🖤
Thank you for believing in strange cinema.
