My name is Alberto Ozzimo.  I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.  As a young man I moved abroad to pursue my dreams. I spent ten years in Paris, France where, among other things, I designed and produced two accessories collections for French fashion designer Yves St.Laurent.  I was hired to design the Touristic Complex of Annaba in Algeria. I was invited to participate at the Salon de la Jeune Sculpture in the Espace Pierre Cardin in Paris. I left France to travel around the world. Attracted by Japanese art and architectural carpentry I spent many years building Japanese furniture.

Thirty years ago, came to the United States where I’ve resided ever since. You might already be familiar with some of my work.

For most of my life, I’ve made a living as a designer, painter and a sculptor realizing extensive artwork in many famous Las Vegas hotels.

But my creative impulse and interests transcend those media, so I’m always looking for new artistic expressions.  I went to film school in Los Angeles, and I’ve worked in many Hollywood film productions as an assistant in the art department.

A few years ago, I wrote a short story, Reflections of a Dead Man.  It’s the story of a man who was pronounced dead, yet his brain remained active. In his final moments, as his body is being pushed into the crematory, he has one final chance to look back on his life.

Reflections of a Dead Man is a story of beauty and friendship, of love and hope, and of joys of being human.

I decided to make a short film (15 to 20 minutes) based on the story.  The film will be shot in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where the cost of production is a fraction of what it would be in the United States. Also, given my connections in the arts community and film industry, I’ve secured the actors, the cinematographer, and the music composer for the original score.

All funds will be used to rent the necessary equipment and hire the production staff.
