Eli Moss hasn't added a story.
Inspired by the Ebony article written by the Rev. Dr. Otis Moss III, "Losing Daphne" is a short film written by Eli Moss that portrays the life of a young boy dealing with life's changes as his older sister begins to suffer from paranoid schizophrenia. This is the story of Daphne Moss, my beautiful and intelligent Aunt who inspired so many through her kindness and love, including my hero and father, Otis Moss III. The short film depicts a young boy and man trying to grapple with his sister's mental illness, as he remembers the kind and loving soul she was and how she helped give him life. Though the film has a somber tone, I want people to understand that though pain and change occur in our lives, it's how we move forward while holding onto faith, love and kindness that helps guides our steps. Daphne Moss was my father's mentor, hero, and sister who helped inspired him to be the great man he is today. She brought life to so many people who were blessed enough to encounter her gentle soul.
The funds towards this film will go towards locations, cast/crew, visual design, sound and props so that this film can be beautifully made. The goal is to submit to festivals and have screenings that uplifts those who need it the most. The end goal is to eventually turn this into a feature film that tells a more detailed story of family, love, pain, and faith. Any amount helps toward this film.
"The depth of God’s love cannot be broken by angels or demons, kidney disease or cancer, HIV/AIDS, schizophrenia or suicide. Nothing can separate us from the love of God." - Otis Moss III
