Greetings everyone.. My name is Karissa Evans and Im a very motivated artist! Coming from a family of artists, I first started doodling at a very young age and I never stopped. There are numerous photos of myself as a child where I am drawing in different areas of the house!
Last year I was blessed with a "spot" to sell and showcase my art work! My Twin uncles started baking and selling bread as young adults then eventually began selling daiquiris. They started with a few outlets in different areas of Nassau, Bahamas and today they are recognized worlwide for their amazing food and daiquiris. The name of the company is called Twin Brothers but unfortunately one of the brothers passed away a few years ago.
At the beginning of this year my mom and I we're brain storming about how I can get my art and craft works out in the open, per say..She contacted her brother, Danny..The owner of Twin Brothers and asked how to go about getting access to a stall on Junkanoo beach, a well known beach for tourist attractions and entertainment. My uncle was unable to help us in those regards BUT he was kind enough to allow me to use his storage area as a craft corner!
Once you enter Twin Brothers Restaurant the storage room would be on your immediate right. It took me about three months to complete my idea for the room. I had to place sticky tiles on the floor of the room because it was just cement that looked unattractive. After a full transformation I had turned the room into a souvenir shop 😃😃😃!
The shop is called Stuff Your Bear & Souvenirs. I worked at the Atlantis Resort for some years in different departments. The Kids Club and the Pottery Studio to name a few. Stuffing bears was also a part of my job. I used my experience with Atlantis to create my very own Kids/Adults souvenir craft shop lol..I have painted glasses, Tees, hand made jewelry, ornaments and magnets. You can also hand stuff a bear, turtle or pig of your choice.
I stumbled upon this site and I figured I'd just give it a try. I would love to get support from you all as an inspiring, young, driven, artist and entrepreneur! I would hope to accomplish positive vibes and positive feed back from this project and to show everyone that artisans can make a name for themselves through hard work, dedication and persistance! I felt like I needed to crowdfund because Im not doing the best financially. I have some health issues that require more than I am obtaining at this time in my life. I will use the funds to get a bigger shop, get dental work, help my mom and other family members who are close to me amd in need of assistance.
You are all that I have! For my supporters, I will give away free hand painted souvenirs that can also be customized with names to show my grattitude and appreciation! This would be a life changer for me if only a few persons would be willing to support me in this project!
