It's about that time as we gear up for another journey to
Burning Man! Bringing big art to Burning Man is Expensive and the
only way we are able to afford to bring our gift to you at Black
Rock City is by somehow raising enough funds to offset our costs.
We also know it's expensive for you as well. So a few years back
we thought why not offer up a perk that would be a WIN, WIN, WIN
situation for everyone!! Having a quality Bike at Black Rock City
is essential to your Burning Man Experience. So we decided to
offer quality pre-owned and a limited number of new Beach Cruisers
as Funding Perks. We win as we are now able to fund our project,
you win as you get your own Playa bike as well as the satisfaction
knowing that your money went to Big art instead of some
commodified business and Burning Man wins as we welcome bikes as a
donation at the end of the event lessening the amount of
leftover abandoned bikes.
Every year we spend about 5 months getting XUZA ready for the
journey to and from Black Rock City. The last thing we want is a
mechanical break down during our adventures. So we go through
the entire mechanics of the rig and replace anything that even
looks remotely warn. We also pay meticulous attention to XUZA's
50' Transport Trailer. Last year we replaced all the brakes on the
trailer, we should be good this year, however the tires, six in
total, will need to be replaced.
We're keeping the same budget as we had the past five years and looking to raise $10,000.
It's hard to believe that this will be XUZA's 7th year at
Burning Man!
What was once just a playa dream
has manifested into something truly amazing.
Every year XUZA needs a new coat of
UV Reactive White Paint, this is what makes XUZA Come Alive at
night. Sadly the UV properties only last a few months at best.
This year she will need 5-6 gallons of paint @ $195.00 per gallon,
and worth every drop!
We will also creating some new
facade pieces and you can bet we'll be adding new improve
lighting.
After four years, the Playa finally
took its toll on XUZA's Generators. This year we are looking at
purchasing a new dual fuel generator. One that runs on both
gasoline and Propane. The idea of using clean energy is something
we've been looking at for a while and this year 2020 it's time!
Every year we XUZA shows up
looking even better then the year before.

All pre-owned bikes have been refurbished and in "like-new" condition
- all have gone through a complete overhaul with new and freshly greased crank / wheel bearings and new tubes.
- We only offer the best Beach Cruisers for the Playa; Huffy, Cranbrook, Schwinn or Similar.
- We maintain, service, replace /grease bearings as needed and test ride each Bike so you'll have reliable Playa transportation
