Destination Serbia: A Chance to Save Our Family and Revive Our Artisan Marshmallow Art
Hello! My name is Kseniia. I am reaching out to you on behalf of my entire family. We have found ourselves in a desperate situation, and we are raising funds to escape this dead end, relocate safely, and rebuild our family business from scratch—creating unique Zephyr marshmallow flowers and custom craft sweets in Serbia.
How We Got Here
We left Russia and cannot return. For the past three years, we have been quite literally fighting for survival in Argentina. It has been a time of incredibly brutal struggle. To keep our children fed and put a roof over our heads, we took on any backbreaking job available. My husband worked on construction sites and did heavy renovations, we cooked non-stop to order, and I took on whatever shifts I could find in delivery. We worked around the clock, to the point of complete exhaustion.
Throughout these three years, we also tried our best to develop our beloved passion—confectionery art. I create unique handcrafted Zephyr marshmallow flowers. These are true edible masterpieces, and we have poured our hearts into them. We used every single opportunity to share our product with the locals. But the reality turned out to be harsh. Due to the deep economic crisis in Argentina, people find our product too expensive. The local market is highly conservative, people are hesitant to try new things, and orders are tragically scarce.
The Dead End We Face Now
Despite our endless hard labor, we couldn't outrun the crisis. Today, we are completely drowning in debts and loans. We do not even have enough money for basic daily survival. We are emotionally and physically drained. We feel utterly trapped.
We know that for the sake of our children's future and our own, we must leave. We need to build our life in a place where people at least know and appreciate this product, and where the culture and mindset are familiar to us. We do not want to and will not return to Russia. Our only hope is Serbia, a country that is culturally and mentally much closer to us. But we cannot even take the first step: transatlantic plane tickets back to Europe for our family of four cost 6,000 dollars alone. We simply do not have this money.
Our Dream and How the Funds Will Be Used
We are not afraid of hard work—our calloused hands from the last three years are proof of that. We have genuine, professional skills and a big dream: to open an honest family sweet workshop in Serbia and sustain ourselves through our own craft.
We are raising 15,000 dollars. This amount is our only ticket to a new life. It will go directly towards:
Emergency Relocation: 6,000 dollars for high-cost transatlantic flights from Buenos Aires to Europe for four family members.
Initial Housing: First month's rent and a deposit for a modest apartment in Serbia for a family of four.
Legalization and Paperwork: Certified translations, official fees, and initial residency permits for the whole family.
Business Launch Equipment: Purchasing a professional mixer, confectionery tools, and high-quality ingredients to start baking from day one.
