Help Us Bring Our Movie to Film Festivals Worldwide

Our Movie

Have you ever scanned the room while at a party or a private event and spotted somebody you know doesn’t belong there but, somehow, this person got through the door?

The Blue Buffoon is about THAT person. 

In our film, we invite you to meet Terry Finn - an obnoxious, crude, minimally talented “culture vulture” struggling to maintain the overnight success he, truly, never saw coming. 

Shot in the mockumentary style popularized by filmmakers like Christopher Guest and TV shows like  The Office   , our film explores the weight of undeserved fame, the culture that both condemns and creates false idols, and the ways in which grief may inform the persona one adopts to cope with the world around them. It also explores cult-y life coaches, British television, American influencers, “rizzonomics”, the concept of bedding your enemy’s mother, Long Island cinephiles, Long Island strip clubs, tricked-out Veyrons, and so much more.

This is the story of a sad clown. The Blue Buffoon.

Our Goals

So here's the sitch: our movie is made. We've wrapped production, put the finishing touches on the final cut, and we are incredibly proud of what we've captured. But actually making a movie is only half the battle.

The road ahead involves getting our film seen by as many industry professionals as possible.

And so, our festival run begins.

Our target festival season runs from January 2026 through December 2026.

We would like to target festivals that focus on comedic short-form storytelling, diverse creators, and bold perspectives on contemporary culture. 

Festivals we’re eyeing include:

  • Sundance, SXSW, Tribeca (the pie-in-the-sky tier).
  • Diversity at Cannes, BlackStar, Urbanworld, American Black Film Festival, Hip Hop Film Festival (genre-specific showcases).
  • Clermont-Ferrand, Palm Springs ShortFest, RIFF (short film specialists).
  • Regional festivals across the US and international festivals in the UK, Canada, and beyond.

Should you choose to contribute to our campaign, your assistance will help with costly festival submission fees, marketing materials, travel and accommodation for select cast and crew, and so much more.

Let’s Be Real

We, director David-Georges & screenwriter Hayden Warren, created this project as a way of tackling some controversial topics though a uniquely humorous lens. Having collaborated on many small projects before, our hope was to expand the scope of our filmmaking with The Blue Buffoon  - an ambitious hip-hop musical mockumentary comedy. With this film, we have sought to join our individual perspectives together in order to explore the narrative comedy genre in a deeply personalized fashion. The process of making this film has undoubtedly progressed our collective storytelling skills. We have many more stories on the way and we will keep on pushing the envelope. We’re both students of cinema and we want to make movies we want to see, movies made by real people for real people.

Terry’s story in our movie is in many ways reflective of an existential journey many artists go through. While Terry may be misusing his abilities to create a seat at a table he was never invited to, it is ultimately his own insecurities that keep him from reflecting on both his successes and failures. Beyond that, Terry's journey speaks to a universal fear that we simply may not be “good enough”, even when the world around us suggests otherwise. That's the realness we're after.
