Our Mother-Daughter Love Story

Who's Gonna Take Care of Me? is an extraordinary mother-daughter love story. The film chronicles the tragic events of my severely mentally disabled mother's life from 1991-2000 leading up to the day she disappeared. The moment she disappeared, I filed a Missing Person's Report, launching a desperate search that lasted nine harrowing years. When she was finally found, she had endured nearly a decade of homelessness and unimaginable suffering. I became her legal guardian and brought her home to safety, caring for her for the rest of her life.

The film also delves into heartbreaking moments from her childhood—shocking events that shaped her world, including the sudden death of her mother when she was just three years old and the painful separation from her mentally disabled father and five-year-old sister. These early traumas may have contributed to her schizophrenia.

My mother’s survival and our reunion became the story we cherished and relived together every day after she was found. As I promised her, my mission now is to share her incredible journey with audiences worldwide—touching millions of hearts with the power of courage and unconditional love.

Why I Need Your Help

The rocky road I've traveled to bring my mom's story before the world has been challenging. The project faced setbacks due to lack of funding, poor camera work, poor sound quality, and unforeseen production obstacles like the sudden deaths of three prominent cast members. I also had to remove difficult argumentative individuals from the project, causing delays and lost time.

I'll be in a position by spring of 2026 to submit my amazing film to major film festivals and attract investors or distributors as a feature-length production—or even a Netflix limited series. 

My Vision

Imagine a world where mentally ill, homeless individuals battling life-threatening diseases receive the care and compassion they deserve—a world where no one endures the horrible suffering my beautiful mother faced.

My Journey So Far

• FUNDS RAISED: $16,177 has been fully utilized, under the SAG Micro Budget Contract, including a $5,000 contribution from my company, Heavenly Waterfall Productions.

• Supporters: To date, 75 generous donors have helped fund the film. Each of them has received associate producer credit on IMDb and will be recognized in the film’s onscreen credits.  

• PRODUCTION TEAM: 50 actors and crew members contributed to the feature-length version of the film. 

• Current Status: The film will remain in postproduction through spring of 2026 as I continue to work with postproduction specialists and continuing my education to become a DaVinci Resolve specialist to correct the unusable footage and sound that was shot. 

For the past year-and-a-half, postproduction has been in full swing, with extensive work on color correction, lighting, transitions, graphics, sound engineering, effects, and more. However, funding is still needed to complete these final phases. No donation is too small—every dollar goes toward completing this powerful film. Please help me make it a reality!

What I Need

Postproduction & Finalizing the Film

Despite the incredible progress, postproduction requires additional funding to ensure that every frame and sound meets professional industry standards. That’s why your support is crucial —every contribution brings us closer to a finished film that can be submitted to major festivals and attract investors and/or distribution for a feature-length release on a major platform like Netflix as a limited series and the opportunity to film part two of my film.

Randy Withrow – Composer, Sound Engineer, Sound Effects Designer & Postproduction Supervisor

The postproduction sound design is being handled by fabulous and brilliant composer Randy Withrow, CEO of Randall Lee Productions and WOW Artist (BMI). Randy has been brought on board to create the film’s score, crafting a soundtrack that enhances the emotional depth of Marie’s journey. In addition to his role as a sound engineer, Randy is also the sound effects designer, ensuring that every ambient sound, impactful moment, and subtle audio detail is finely tuned and mastered to perfection to bring authenticity and cinematic immersion to the story.

Beyond sound, Randy serves as the overall postproduction supervisor, overseeing key elements with me such as color and lighting corrections, video editing, effects, transitions, etc. His extensive skills in cinematic sound design, visual refinement, and production continuity ensure that Who’s Gonna Take Care of Me? achieves the highest artistic and technical quality possible.

Why Now?

Completing the film is critical—it will help secure co-executive producers, investors, and distribution deals.

I hope to finish the film by April 2026 and enter it into film festivals in 2026.  

My Personal Commitment

After 48 years in the entertainment industry, I am making my directorial debut with my award-winning screenplay,  Who's Gonna Take Care of Me? As a SAG actress and one of Hollywood's Most Prominent Stuntwomen and Stunt Actresses of the 70s and 80s, I’ve appeared in over 100 major films and primetime TV shows, working alongside iconic directors and actors—including Clint Eastwood, James Garner, Stanley Kramer, Irwin Allen, Michael Caine, Dick Van Dyke, Jeff Goldblum, Stacy Keach, Lynda Carter, Shirley Jones, Priscilla Presley, Patrick Duffy, Jane Seymour, Morgan Fairchild, and many more.
