VENOMYTHS
is a frame story disguised as a comics zine. Published in outer
spacetime in a psychiatric asylum that everyone calls Magic Moon.
Communication with intergalactic civilization having been severely
restricted a group of revolutionaries on Magic Moon, in an effort to
reach out across the expanse, have resolved to tell their story
using the best means available to them, an ancient technology
called: the book.
Anecdotes, aphorisms, recipes, dreams, comics and stories weave together in this magical flight of fancy and allegorical series.

I have been self-publishing VENOMYTHS for four years now and issue 07 is now here. The series was recently nominated for an Ignatz Award in the Outstanding Series category! And it is now officially an Ignatz Award Losing Series!

VENOMYTHS is printed using a Risograph at the print shop I share with my buddy Matt Hodel. I lovingly print every issue myself, collate, fold, bind and trimmed all at King’s Madness, the finest risoshop in St Louis. Each issue is an object of art using multiple paper stocks and colors to create something human and unique.
VENOMYTHS 07 is currently in the production phase of
things. It will be printed and debuting at SPX 2023 in Bethesda
Maryland on September 09. Your contribution will go towards paying
the production costs. Four different sumptuous paper stocks from
French Paper in Michigan. Four-color cover with 2-3 color interior,
printed on a RISO EZ 590 U. All printed, folded, bound and trimmed by
yours truly.
I have run two successful crowdfunding campaigns in the past with beautiful results and look forward to another. This time with the wonderful people at Crowdfundr who have already proven to be extremely helpful and committed to this project. Your contribution will go to covering production costs, and you will receive the ripened fruit of my labors as a result!
