The Sensational Swan is back in the spotlight with a brand-new 1.25 inch enamel pin featuring the character's iconic mask.

Stone here, publisher of Altruist Comics and creator of The
Sensational Swan. I've launched and funded many Kickstarter campaigns
over the past few years, but this is my first time with Crowdfundr.
I'm excited to reach a new audience and campaign alongside some other
amazing Canadian creators during the current Canadian Creators Spotlight.
Not only can you pick up this super Swan swag, but other items include Swan trading cards, The Sensational Swan one-shot (collection of three short stories and pinups), the Swan's first appearance in Death & Comics (mature), and all of the other Altruist Comics titles!
If this campaign goes well and we see there's an appetite for more Swan, it may lead to an all new collection of shorts: Tales of The Swan.
The Secret Origin of Swan
Swan began as kind of a throw away character that existed only to use this (in my opinion brilliant) costume/mask design and the first story I wrote actually played off of a Batman and Robin-esque dynamic in The Ugly Truth (found in the original Death & Comics).
Following
up on that original story, I wanted to create other shorts that
hinted at an imagined decades long history of the character, which
resulted in The Sensational Swan, a one-shot featuring
three new short stories, along with some pinups.
PD Loupee and I crafted a tale that focused on Swan's
psychologist secret identity, Dr. Michael Murphy, and his
professional interactions with the alter-ego of one of his rogues
gallery. This was beautifully brought to life by Luana Vecchio
(who went on to win the Russ Manning award for Most Promising
Newcomer, and created the insanely popular Lovesick for
Image Comics this year).
Also
riffing on the psychological aspect is Reflections.
Written by John Ward, with art by Marco Perugini and lettering
from Ariana Maher, this one gave me chills when I first read the
script, only elevated further by Marco and Ariana's contributions.
The
third story actually focuses on Swan's sidekick, The Dauntless
Duckling. With playful reverence to Batman '66, Travis Rivas
helped me to develop Swan's chum on his first solo adventure. The
team of artist Robin Richardson, colourist Gab Contreras, and
letterer Greg Deng dialed up the fun in their work to pull off
this entertaining throw back.
Along
with the cover I did with Marissa Louise, there are also pinups by
the likes of J. Schiek, Anderson Cabral, Hank Jones, Jr. and me.

The delivery date is a conservative estimate on when I'll have the pins in hand and can start shipping these out.
