RENEGADE
A featurette film by Felicity Jacobsen
Presented by Pandemonium Productions

a cinematic goal.
Directors Statement :
This story is inspired by true events that have impacted my personal life, and I now write it on paper and through a visionary screenplay to empower other girls in similar situations to overcome their grief and pain. A family member lost not just to death, but to prosecution or some other estrangement may feel like the end of the road, but maybe it’s just a part of a longer healing process, and an even longer growing period to become the person you are. Imagine the mentor who taught you everything you know becoming a mysterious person you’re told never to talk to again. You're so full of dissapointment, in them, in everyone else, and especially yourself who still longs to be around them. It hurts. It stings. And it’s time to show what that feels like on the screen.
- Felicity Jacobsen
Logline: When the world has gone dark during a fun road trip across the States, Jordan must find a way back home to see who is still alive-- battling against her emotional well being through her memories toying with her at the side-- before she's consequenced for the actions she needed to take to survive.
Synopsis: Jordan has finally ran out of rations in her forest campsite. As she packs up the essentials in her truck, she finds her grandfathers notebook stashed away. She gives no nostalgic fondment over it as it starts up her old memories which pose as a second alternate plot playing among the main story. She wonders after all that she has been through, if he may still be alive, so she finds a map and an address and starts her journey back home to find him. Along the beautiful journey of autumn sights in Oregon, she constantly checks her respirator mask is on tight and her shotgun is close to her side. Jordan eventually finds foes and friends along her journey, judging whether or not if she should trust them. After all, her trust has been thwarted as her memories start to reveal the truth of what her grandfather had done to cattipult her emotional breakages. This heartbreaking story alternates between Jordans past and present, and eventually merges to a climactic breaking point when Jordan finds out there may have never been any use to her surviving at all.
Theme: Breaking morals after the world can no longer hold them, finding peace after suffering the hardest of consequences from the lack of keeping promises.
Message: The furthest you can run away from something is all the way around the planet and right back where you started. What are you running for if everything is going to catch up behind you? What are you seeking if everything is already in front of you? What is there to lose if you have already lost everything? What is there to gain if there is nothing to gain anymore? Stop running. Start accepting the solid truth of fact. And forgive forgive forgive.
Tone: A dark, post-apocalyptic lonely journey of a girl traveling far through the Midwest with her past catching up behind. Within deep autumn, where the trees are shifting and the climax in the ending months, as the snow gets thicker, her heart gets colder. Colors are muted within the present, but pop and shine within flashback scenes of her memories in the spring and summer. This is a four-seasoned movie. Every season has it's meaning, hardship, and demonstration to the main plot of the story.
Feeling: Mysterious, Ominous, like the movie is lying to you. Should you trust the MC? It feels like you are following the MC, spying on her perhaps, but if you move and she finds you, you might be dead. Dead as much as her friends are. You find out her secrets through her memories and the past life she remembers as she travels. In the end it should be heartbreaking, realizing that she had no choice to do the things she did, in order to survive, but why does she want to survive if there is nothing to live for anymore?
Red Dead Redemption soundtracks and themes meet the emotional breakthroughs of The Last of Us, combined with similar stakes of the Resident Evil franchise.
Who would love this?: Country lovers, alternate post-apocalyptic fascinators, females struggling with their identities, and those who love to watch beautiful seasonage play on a screen.
The Vision:
“Renegade” is Pandemonium Production's latest project proposal. Written from a female perspective and centered on heavy emotions of grief and morals in conflicting situations most people wouldn't think about in a normal setting. Jordan is just a girl trying to figure out how to survive in this newly post-apocalyptic world. Even though the “post-apocalyptic” themes are more of a background asset, the beauty of a dark autumn and winter film persists into the loneliness of our Protagonist. Jordan struggles through journeying back home while her past memories reflect her current mental state, which is slowly cracking under the pressure of her long walk to the Midwest from the Eastern Shores. As she makes this journey, the beautiful orange and red season of fall, and the transition into winter, will be captured on Blackmagic cinema cameras like the Pyxis 6k and Pocket 6k-- over wide-angle cine lenses combined with anamorphic-styles. Audio will be professionally recorded with a boom mic, and lighting equipment will be used delicately to avoid disrupting natural light, since most scenes are set outdoors during the day. The music is very important. We envision an OST to accompany the film's launch, featuring non-copyrighted or story-specific music created by our community. The overall feeling will be a country-folk aesthetic combined with suspense, thriller, and dramatic tones.

What Funding Will Be Used For :
Crowdfunding will mainly help outsourcing and pay talent and crew. We want to cast the most talented aspiring actors and actresses to make their debut with an emotionally engaging story and a tough act to beat. We already have actors in mind; we just need to motivate them! We must travel for this film to get the best sights and views along Jordan’s journey, so we’ll need expenses for nightly stays and fuel. We'd also love to capture specific locations, so renting locations with adequate funding would be an added benefit. We also have some props, like an old red pickup truck, that donors could source with proper funding and tools. We would love to pay artists and film scorers to help us build the vision for this film to the maximum, and then potentially send it to festivals within the next year. This is our dream child, help us make this dream come true!
- Help pay for travel funds
- Lock in on locations like farm houses, Living Interiors, National Parks, and extra space
- Finding prop collection like vehicles, costumes, and fake prop guns
- Support aspiring actors and indie filmmakers coming into the tough market
Rewards for supporters:
- A name in the credits
- Special script updates and draft previews
- Special look into the behind the scenes
- Progress reports straight from the team
- An opportunity for a character to be named after you!
- Watching the movie ahead of the set premier date
With YOUR help, action, kindness, gratitiude, and support, we can make a dramatic narrative focused on perfect plot, character, and emotion. This film is not made for the awards or for film festivals (although it will end up going to one if the mission is accomplished), it is made for the VIEWERS, and their own benefit of watching a GOOD STORY. Too many movies and short films now adays are made only for the money and the reputation. This story is what comes first in our minds when we think about a beautiful journey on a realistic human motive. This is the story that will get you to tears at the end just because it was shot beautifully, in a way that makes you question if you ever in the theatre in the first place, or if you were transported right into the world first-hand. This story is what emerging artists should be happy to support, and what cinema should truely feel like in todays modern world. Be our superhero, and fuel this impactful story! Don't let it go into the shadows, or else she may be forgotten. I believe full-heartedly that we can all make this happen, just with a little extra boost. <3
ABOUT US:
Who am I?
My name is Felicity Jacobsen. I am 21 years
old as of writing this, and I have a big, fat imagination. I like
to have an art brand or a pen name called “Finley Star,” because
my name just sounds too long and dragging, and I just love stars,
and in every story I write, it just HAS to have a star in it. This
is me. I write stars in stories because the stories deserve to
shine. I write stories to inspire people, and I hope to share that
creative fuel and light the flame. Having a halted childhood from
estranged events helped my mind wander to places in far off lands,
where I was able to pick little pieces up and bring them back to
reality, where now I create worlds in stories that people have
never thought of before.
The Team:
I'm part of a team of other young, emerging filmmakers. We are Pandemonium Productions, and we want to make the most impactful short films and longer “short” films in the Midwest. We want to tell stories focused on Nebraska, the Midwest, and all its beauty. We have made films before, and we are ready to do bigger-budget films now.
I bought us a camera; we got internships; we have the passion, the crew, and the drive. Now it’s time to film; with donors and funding, we can make something that truly puts indie Midwest filmmakers on the map.
The Midwest is an underappreciated region of talented folks who deserve to be in the spotlight; let our studio focus this featurette on that mission and showcase the Midwest and Western United States' natural landscapes.

More films by Pandemonium Productions include The Louse, Our Pages, and Go For Tex. (can be found on the Pandemonium Productions Youtube Channel)
