I'm a Canadian cartoonist. My previous comics include Skulsi Thatcher and The Day I Wrote Watermelon. I also pencil and ink Lucky Unlucky (written and created by Scott MacDougall and painted by Erin Elston).

If you like your adventures weird, this book is for you. You'll follow Murgatroyd, an overwhelmed everyman, and Nepenthe, a mysterious oracle, as they traverse the Hinterlands of the imagination and meet many bizarre beings along the way.

Murgatroyd & Nepenthe is inspired by my love of classic cartoons and comic strips, and my fascination with random processes like the cut-up technique, Eno and Schmidt’s Oblique Strategies, and Noah Wall’s Grotesque Tables. The result is a cohesive narrative, but one that’s constantly twisting and turning in surprising, comical, and uncanny directions. 

Murgatroyd & Nepenthe is recommended for ages 12+.

  • The book is complete and ready to print, which should help mitigate delays
  • The number of people who pledge to receive character sketches may increase production time because these original drawings are created by hand. This pledge level is limited to a quantity of 50 to avoid excessive delays. 
• Physical products ship to Canada and the United States only, but the digital edition is available to anyone!
• If you choose the "pickup" option, your physical products will NOT be shipped to you. Instead, you will be able to pick them up at L. A. Mood Comics & Games, 100 Kellogg Lane, London ON, Canada. You will be notified when your products are ready to pick up!
