The Candy King came with his dapper dance and smile to your land. His promises that you would never go hungry again were true. But the reality of it fell short of his wonderous speeches. Before you knew it, you were in a strange faraway land imprisoned in a cacophonous clash of theme park and factory.

You slaved away for years in this sparkle-industrial fever vision, serving the Candy King’s dreams while yours died. The worst was his gruesome demand that you perform for him when tragedies occur. Over time, your will was worn away and you did as told.

But times change. It was just one snide comment too many. One monstrous demand too far. Something in you snapped and you can take no more. You now have one mission: KILL THE CANDY KING.

About this game

KILL THE CANDY KING is a tabletop roleplaying game. It started as a supporter's request to play a themed version of DICK PUNCH EVERY SUIT. I posted about running it a few times and several people expressed interest in seeing it published. So here we are!

KILL THE CANDY KING features three main play stages: 

1. Defeating the HEIRS, the feral sugar addict child soldiers of the CANDY KING.
2. Facing the king's GEARS, fever dream mechanical contraptions and power suits that defend the factory's throne.
3. A final face-off against the CANDY KING and his CROWN HEIRS.

OOMPAS have preserved and adapted traditions around song and poetry that lets them put on an uninterrupted performance that grants them extra actions, empowers them to raise fallen comrades, and allows them move and reconfigure the rooms and machines of the surreal factory.

Uses a simple d6 system and basic meters to track passion for the liberation, the weight of brainwashing stress, and how far you've pushed the limits of the factory's rules (for even in rebellion, the strange laws of the place must be obeyed). 

Will you fall to the brainwashing and grind, becoming QUISLINGS? Or will you defeat and KILL THE CANDY KING?

Upsides

• This is a hack of an existing published game, which is  the author's own work.
• Rev has steadily pushed out new games and updates despite health and life struggles. The release is not a question of "if" but "when".
• Rev is an experienced creator, with games like NEVER Stop Smiling, Dinosaur Wizards In Space, and DICK PUNCH EVERY SUIT. 
• This was run multiple times and has extensive notes. The bulk of the necessary work is translating and refining things for a publishable form.
• The basic goal is a subsidy for Rev's time, to ensure free hours to work on the manuscript.
• Half of the receipts over the basic goal go toward custom art specifically suited to the game. The other half are devoted to extra time for development, expanding the text.
• If over $1k is raised, a print on demand edition will be made and game backers will receive codes for at-cost printing when it is released.
