“ WHAT’S NEXT FOR JAYDEN”
A boy’s journey with Level 3 Autism
Diagnosed as a level 3 autistic at the age of 5, Jayden Patrick has experienced the challenges of this disorder with the help and resilience of his mom, Melissa. Today, Melissa is on a mission to give a voice to her son and all children and families dealing with seldom discussed level 3 autism.
“What’s Next for Jayden ” will simply and clearly explain the three levels of autism and the level of support required. We will focus on level 3 autism, which is the most severe. To fully understand level 3 autism, we will engage with parents, families, doctors, and therapists who are on the front line helping and advocating for these children.
By giving level 3 autistic children a voice, this film will become a movement and vehicle of change for building a platform of advocacy to spread awareness, fundraising, inspiration, improved quality of life, and social innovation in the autism community.
Without funding for this project, our reach and impact will be limited. We need YOUR help! Your contributions will allow in depth filming of people on the front line helping these level 3 children. Your contributions will also help with all post-production needs. This film will be submitted to multiple film festivals nationwide. Not only will this be a visually compelling work of art, but an emotionally engaging narrative that will inspire transformation within the autism community.
We are committed to completing this film, no matter what. As an independent production, we’ve been fortunate to rely on the generosity, time, and dedication of countless professionals who have agreed to contribute their talents to bring this vision to life. Out of respect for their hard work and unwavering support, we feel a deep responsibility to ensure this film reaches its highest potential. Your donations will play a vital role in making that happen. Our goal is to share this story as widely as possible not only within the autism community but with audiences around the globe. We believe in this message and plan to give a voice to those with level three autism and their families.
We’d also like to offer participation screen credits for those who donate to this film.
Donations from $100.00 - $1000.00 will receive a “SPECIAL THANKS” screen credit
Donations from $1000.00 - $5000.00 will receive an “ASSOCIATE PRODUCER” screen credit
Donations from $5000.00 and above will receive an “EXECUTIVE PRODUCER” screen credit
Any proceeds earned from the film will be used at the sole discretion of the filmmakers.

Melissa Aguanno, Esq. – Director/Producer
Melissa is a criminal defense attorney with her own solo law practice.
Prior to law school she worked with foster care youth and adults with developmental disabilities. When she was 40 years old, she gave birth to her son, Jayden Patrick.
At the age of two, Jayden was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. Melissa has dedicated her life to her son and to helping him find ways to cope with the stressors of a world that was not built for him. Throughout his short seven years of life Jayden has faced new challenges and has struggled with things that neurotypical children do without any thought. Jayden cannot dress himself, bathe himself, or communicate many words verbally. Jayden struggles with tasks such as transitions and comprehension. He struggles with new environments, holidays, events, etc. Every day is a struggle for Jayden.
Melissa wants to educate the lay person on level 3 autism. Her goal is to bring education and awareness through sharing her personal story as well as thoughts from clinicians in the field.
