It’s a routine morning subway ride to school in New York, circa 1999. Hila and Ramon, two bored teens, steal a man’s bag on a whim. When they eventually manage to lose the stranger, Hila opens the bag and can’t believe what she’s seeing inside: there is a severed head! Thus begins the zany chain of events where a trained hitman, an FBI agent, and others are hunting the teens down to get the head back!

About
When AJ approached me to cowrite, initially we
were considering doing more of a fantasy story.
But after several conversations, we decided to
craft something slightly more grounded. We started to envision a
high stakes and frenetic crime thriller centered around two teens in
way over their heads. AJ, a big fan of Martin McDonagh's films like
In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, wanted to tell a story that serves
as a love letter to the director.
After hammering out the
outline and putting together a pitch to publishers that
unfortunately didn't go anywhere, we decided to crowdfund the comic
to complete the story!
We're hoping to raise enough to pay the creative
team (whose members are from all over the world) and cover printing
costs as well.
Risks and challenges
Once we are funded Paulo, Warnia and Micah can be paid to
finish what remains. Covid-related delays may slow down printing
and shipping. AJ has recently completed a crowdfunding campaign.
We will be as communicative as possible with updates and potential
delays. We're experienced project managers, the risks should be
minimal, and we are confident we can get this book in your hands
next year!
