My name is Jonathan Kantola, Owner of Right Side Films. I began my writing career at the young age of 14 when I began writing short stories in school. I won several awards for short story reimaginations of Romeo & Juliet, The Great Gatsby and Hamlet, to name a few. As I grew older, I began to move into the writing of a different kind, MUSIC. I started writing music professionally at 17 and wrote, recorded and produced three albums, including several Billboard charted singles.

At 18, I joined the U.S. Navy with the hopes of an education and seeing the world, but much to my dismay, I was injured shortly after and returned home at 20. I resided with my apparent "normality" until 2016, when fed up with "normality," I started the company Right Side Films and began broadcasting The Johnny Ray Show across the internet.

By 2020 I had taken The Johnny Ray Show from an idea to a podcast seen by thousands of people every night of the week. Not to stagnate in the entertainment world, I'm now taking Right Side Films from lonely podcasts to Films & TV.

"A Different Kind of War"

In the dark underbelly of a crime-ridden city, former Army Lieutenant Detective James Thompson, a dedicated and principled cop, finds himself caught in an intricate web of corruption that entwines the police force, the mob and even the government. Haunted by the events of war, Thompson embarks on a dangerous mission to uncover the truth, risking his career and his life to bring justice where it is desperately needed.

As Thompson delves deeper into the investigation, he discovers that the corruption runs deeper than he initially imagined, reaching the highest echelons of power within his own police department. Each step leads him closer to a treacherous alliance between crooked cops and the merciless mob, who have carved out a dangerous empire in the heart of the city.

As the case reaches a boiling point, Thompson's life hangs in the balance. With his career on the brink of destruction and the threat of retribution from the mob looming over him, Thompson must make a gut-wrenching decision: to walk away and preserve his own safety or to risk it all to dismantle the corrupt system and bring those responsible to justice.

The Impact

This film is not just a great story on the surface it has a deep and close meaning to our team as well. It isn't just about a detective fighting corruption, it tells a story of how the men and women who serve our country overseas are treated by the very government they have sacrificed to protect. The men and women of our armed forces are truly hero's without capes and those men and women are treated as nothing more than cogs in a wheel once their "duty" is done. We at Right Side Films support our armed forces vehemently and want to tell the dark story of how those men and women are treated once they are done "fighting."
