Danial Mason Australian Author has authored a book called Custody Part One – Fathers Fight for his Son. And is based on actual events, it captures a true-life drama whereas the Father takes on the legal system against many odds.
The story was in the 1970’s where the mother in custody issues despite what they have done, the law was at the time a child under five remains with the Mother.
Danial Mason could not find a lawyer because of the law that favored mothers, it was due to a premonition he had that led him to a church service that he was put in touch with a lady Barrister, she took on his case, between them they took the law on.
The Lawyer that represented Danial you will find outstanding, it’s a story in itself, the way she dealt with issues in several court proceedings, her skills with witnesses, then the way she dealt with the lawyer representing his wife.
The Judges conclusion in the custody hearing that lasted five days will keep you guessing to the end, there was many twists and turns, allegation about the Father by his wife were damaging to the extent, he was portrayed as a violent person, potential murderer and ill-treated his wife.
The case against the Father was damming to the point where it all seemed lost for the father to have his son, despite the fact it was his wife who had the adulterous affair that went on for nearly a year before she left the matrimonial home to live with her lover, to make it more incredible it was just after several weeks Danial and his wife and son, shifted. into their new home.
When she left, the child stayed with the father, then many months after she left the home, she decided she wanted custody of her son.
Danial Mason worked at an exceptionally good job as a supervisor in a food company, he also operated a movie business, this business was under severe scrutiny at the court hearing whereas the father was accused of showing x rated movies to his son.
The story includes domestic violence, lies and cover ups, the many incidents leading up to the court hearing and see how they played out in the court case.
The important issue here is that Fathers do have rights, women to can be seen as the aggressor like men are often portrayed, the moral of the story is that men must have the courage to stand up for what they believe in and their rights to the children.
