THE STORY

After the passing of his grandmother, Miles Saunders returns to the Bronx apartment he grew up in. He has not stepped foot inside 3E in years. The moment he enters, the air feels different, heavy, familiar, and unsettling, as though the home has been holding its breath.

Miles returns home to settle his grandmother’s affairs, but the apartment he grew up in begins pulling him back into old memories, old wounds, and old family patterns. The conflict is whether he can leave 3E with his identity intact, or whether the apartment will keep him the way it kept everyone before him.

What begins as a simple obligation becomes charged with tension as Miles reunites with the two women who know the apartment best. Old dynamics reemerge. Emotional pressure builds. Small distortions appear within the home. Apartment 3E feels strangely aware.

The film unfolds across two parallel timelines, the 1980s and the present day, revealing the way emotional silence and unspoken grief can echo down through generations. The horror is not supernatural. It is psychological, atmospheric, and rooted in the residue of unresolved history.

THE SAUNDERS FAMILY

Miles Saunders
Quiet, observant, and introspective. His return to Apartment 3E forces him to confront parts of his childhood he believed were long buried.

Vikki Saunders
Miles’s mother. Practical, strong, and emotionally contained. She believes the apartment carries “the markings,” the emotional fingerprints left behind by a family that endured far more than they ever addressed.

Lana Saunders
Miles’s aunt. Sharp, humorous, and skilled at avoiding her own pain. She was the one who tried to escape the apartment, yet stepping back inside makes everything she has avoided rise to the surface.

Jean Saunders
Seen only in the 1980s timeline. A matriarch worn down by responsibility and silence. Jean is not a ghost, but the emotional blueprint she left behind remains embedded in the walls.

Edoardo Miranda - "Miles Saunders"

Bio

Originally from New York City, Edoardo Miranda is an American actor and writer trained at the Stella Adler Studio and Brooklyn College. His breakout role came in For: Lila, where his portrayal of Sal De Leon earned him multiple acting awards and, in 2025, a nomination for Best Actor of the Season at the Independent Shorts Awards alongside Tate Donovan and Andrew Howard. His additional film credits include Eating with the Enemy, narrated by Kevin Sorbo, where he played Peter the Disciple, and The Fox, in which he starred opposite Kazy Tauginas. On stage, he has appeared as Maestro in The Last Boy at The Town Hall and as Marco in the Off-Broadway production Arrivals, directed by Art Feinglass.

I am thrilled to announce that I have joined the cast of 3E, a powerful new horror film by Geordy Skolnick. I will be playing the role of Miles, a man through whom we explore the raw themes of family trauma as he faces both the physical monsters and the internal ones.

This project is especially exciting for me because I am personally extremely afraid of horror movies as an audience member, which makes this a compelling challenge as an actor. It also explores problems I have faced in my own life, making it an important film for my personal development as a man. I hope this reaches other men who deal or have dealt with monsters, whether that figure might be themselves or someone from their past.

Geordy and I are dedicated to using the horror genre to explore critical male archetypes, specifically the boogeyman and toxic masculinity archetypes in today's society. This is a story that needs to be told.

Bio

Morgan LaDuke is a Manhattan-based actor whose work blends emotional honesty with grounded, expressive storytelling. She has trained extensively in on-camera performance and scene study and has appeared in a range of projects, including commercial work and short films.

Drawn to characters with complexity and depth, Morgan is especially inspired by stories that explore family dynamics, identity, and the quiet tensions that shape who we become. Outside of acting, she enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with the people she loves. These experiences continually fuel her curiosity and bring richness to her performances.

I was immediately drawn to 3E because it intertwines generational trauma, grief, and the supernatural in a way that feels both haunting and deeply human. I love that the haunting in the apartment mirrors the emotional haunting within this family. The silence, shame, and unresolved pain linger just as powerfully as any presence in the walls.

What excites me most about playing Young Vikki is her mix of defiance and vulnerability. She is standing at a crossroads between youth and responsibility, and that tension feels incredibly real to me as someone in my twenties navigating my own transitions into adulthood. I love taking pieces of my lived experience and channeling them into characters who are raw, imperfect, and trying to understand the world around them. My hope is that Vikki brings both fire and fragility to the story, serving as a reminder that even in moments marked by silence and pain, there are flashes of truth, connection, and resilience that cut through the darkness.

Bio

Ava Longarzo is a Jersey-born actor and singer based in Morristown, NJ and New York City. She recently graduated from NYU Tisch School of the Arts with a BFA in Drama and a minor in Cinema Studies. Her recent credits include Holly in the short film Coach (directed by Rahul Hansraj), Becca in the original play Whistle Junkies (Experimental Theatre Wing), and Elly in the new musical Carbon Monoxide (Going Nowhere Productions). Outside of her artistic work, Ava is an enthusiastic foodie, an aspiring chef, and a published journal author.

Not only am I thrilled to help bring an utterly chilling psychological horror film to life (my all-time favorite genre), but I am honored to contribute to a story that explores the haunting reality of growing up in a fractured family environment.

Having personally felt the fear and instability of a home in disarray, I am deeply moved by how this film blends the supernatural with rich, character-driven storytelling. In my portrayal of Lana, I hope to illuminate the suffocating tightrope between love and torment, how the pursuit of independence can feel like both a curse and a refuge. While Lana’s armored exterior contrasts sharply with her sister’s heart-forward warmth, I aim to let moments of her buried tenderness slip through the cracks.

Isabelle has appeared in independent films such as Meanie, The Perfect Daughter, Ourika! (selected for the Sundance Festival), Eat It Up!, and her first vertical-format project Sorority Rush. Her theater work includes performances in About That Letter and Apostrophe! at the American Theater of Actors, Almost Maine with Urban Waves, A Tale of Love and Perimenopause at The Theater for the New City, and Measure for Measure with Stag and Lion. She studied acting at The Barrow Group under the guidance of Seth Barrish and Lee Brock.

As I enter middle age, I find myself increasingly drawn to the themes of grief and generational trauma and how they shape family dynamics, especially in life’s most difficult moments. My character, Jean Saunders, is a complex woman who learned to be tough in order to raise her two daughters alone, yet carries deep emotional layers beneath her strength. I am thrilled to bring her to life and deeply grateful to all the supporters who are making this project possible.

Victoria Mancini is a New York–based actor with classical training from Drama Centre London and an MFA from The Actors Studio Drama School. Her recent credits include  Cul de Sac  and  The Librarian . The mood and tone expressed through lighting throughout the time periods are just as much characters as the ones played by the actors. Miles, Vikki, Lana and Jean are living with inherited trauma. Their unexpressed pain becomes palpable, the monsters in their heads become real. Anyone who has experienced generational trauma will relate to what they experience. This film tells what happens when the paranoia, shame and fear of what you’re unable to articulate becoming sentient. It’s also a ripping good and suspenseful ghost story and a tale of psychological horror told with empathy.

Beginning in Manhattan, NY, Geordy’s artistic path has been driven by a lifelong obsession with storytelling in all its forms—particularly stories that blur the line between humor and horror, realism and the surreal.

Raised in the Bronx during the 1990s, Geordy’s work is deeply informed by lived experience, generational trauma, and the darkly comic absurdity of everyday life. These influences shape a body of work that favors emotionally grounded characters, heightened atmosphere, and bold tonal shifts. His storytelling often explores themes of family, identity, grief, obsession, and the supernatural, using genre as a lens rather than a limitation.

James Sullivan - Director of Photography

 

Bio

James Sullivan is a New York–based Director of Photography focused on story-driven, character-first cinematography. He began making short films at age twelve and went on to study Film Production at Boston University, graduating in 2010.

After spending five years working as an Electrician and Gaffer—shaping light alongside leading cinematographers—James transitioned naturally into cinematography. His work includes the short films I’m Gonna Kill You on Wednesday and Twins , as well as the feature My Last Words (2022), which won Best Picture at the Barcelona Planet Film Festival.

Through his production company, Lumipath Films , James continues to craft visually grounded, emotionally resonant stories across narrative and commercial work.

George Sefer - Editor

Bio

George Sefer is a New York based filmmaker raised between Germany and Greece, with an early passion for theater and film that began in middle school. He studied film and television at the Savannah College of Art and Design in the United States. Sefer is a co-founder of the international production group Belladonna Pictures and has directed a number of award-traversing projects. His short film ADAM (2021) garnered festival recognition for its evocative storytelling and visual ambition. He also wrote and directed the pilot Dorian (2025), a modern reimagining of Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray developed as the first episode of a limited series. Building on these narrative works, Sefer expanded into feature filmmaking with ADAM (a feature project completed through 2025), overseeing the process from writing through post-production. Alongside directing and screenwriting, he brings extensive post-production experience in editing, color, and supervision across independent and narrative productions.

Our plan ensures the film can be executed efficiently, safely, and at a high cinematic standard while staying true to its intimate, character-driven nature.

1. Pre-Production (January–March 2026)

During this phase, we will complete final casting, location scouting, shot lists, and table reads. This includes developing detailed visual references, color and lighting guides, wardrobe concepts, and a full rehearsal process for key emotional and physical scenes. We will also begin set construction for the apartment environment that is central to the story.

2. Locations and Sets

We are pursuing a hybrid approach to production.

• On-location filming will occur throughout the Bronx and Queens, utilizing real environments such as city exteriors, neighborhood storefronts, and select interiors to ground the film in authenticity.

• Professional studio space will be used for the most elaborate, intense, and controlled sequences.

• A complete apartment set will be constructed to allow precise control over lighting, atmosphere, sound design, and practical effects, enabling scenes to be shot safely and repeatedly while maintaining emotional continuity.

3. Filming Schedule (April–July 2026)

Principal photography is planned for up to 14 total shoot days, scheduled intermittently across a 4-month window. Rather than filming straight through, production will take place in short blocks (1–3 day groupings), allowing for cast availability, location access, and funding flexibility. If additional financing arrives, select days may be added to enhance production value.

4. Cinematography and Practical Effects

Our visual strategy blends naturalistic, grounded photography with controlled lighting and practical effects to build dread organically. We aim for minimal CGI, allowing the film’s unsettling moments to feel tactile and emotionally real. Shadow work, atmospheric lighting, and in-camera effects will be used to reflect the psychological weight of the characters’ experiences.

5. Sound, Score, and Atmosphere

Sound design is central to the film’s tension. We will craft a layered auditory environment built around subtle textures, emotional cues, and the quiet disturbances that define the apartment’s presence. The score will be composed to enhance psychological suspense rather than overpower it.

6. Post-Production (June 2026–December 2026)

After filming, our team will begin editing, color correction, and color grading to shape the film’s emotional tone. This stage will also include sound mixing, foley, ADR sessions if required, and musical scoring. We aim to complete post-production by late 2026 in preparation for a festival run.

7. Festival Strategy and Release

Upon completion, 3E will be submitted to top-tier genre and independent festivals, with the goal of securing distribution and building audience visibility. Our target release window is no later than January 2027, with crowdfunder supporters receiving updates, early previews, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content throughout the process.

Reaching $40,000 allows 3E to reach its full creative potential while remaining grounded and character driven.

At this level, we can secure the apartment set for a longer duration, giving us flexibility for reshoots, pickups, and refinements without rushing or compromising performances.
