After being diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) in 2016, I was stunned by how many women—some of them close to me—were living with this condition in silence. PCOS is one of the most common hormonal disorders affecting women, yet it remains widely misunderstood, under-diagnosed, and underrepresented in both medical communities and media.
That very silence ignited a fire in me, giving birth to 40 Negatives—a short film driven by an urgent need to illuminate a condition that touches countless lives yet often remains whispered in private.
As a storyteller, I believe in the power of film to illuminate, connect, and create empathy. 40 Negatives isn’t just about PCOS as a medical diagnosis—it’s about the emotional journey that often comes with it. It’s about relationships, self-worth, identity, and resilience. Through Olivia’s story, I wanted to explore what it truly feels like to live with PCOS—the doubts, the strength, and the quiet courage it takes to keep going. Through Sam, I wanted to highlight the emotional depth and vulnerability of Black men, and how they show up to support the women in their lives.
This is a story about womanhood, partnership, and the power of being seen.
Now, I’m asking for your help to bring this story to the world.
Your support will help me submit 40 Negatives to film festivals across the country—giving the film, and the voices behind it, the platform they deserve. It will help cover submission fees, travel, promotional materials, and screenings that can spark much-needed dialogue.
By contributing, you’re not just backing a film—you’re helping to amplify a conversation, break a silence, and support representation that matters.
Let’s make this story seen. Let’s make it heard.
Thank you for being a part of the 40 Negatives journey.
