I am writing a film that delves deep into the unspoken struggles of surviving family and friends of those who have lost their lives to suicide and overdose. The story centers around a young girl’s painful yet transformative journey into adulthood after her father’s overdose

This is not just a film about loss. It’s a story about survival. It’s about the unseen scars that families bear long after the tragic event. It’s about the complex emotions of love, grief, anger, and resilience that ripple through the hearts of those left behind. What happens when a loved one’s struggle becomes part of your own? How do we rebuild ourselves after being shattered by the sudden and unexpected departure of someone we held dear?

Through the lens of this young girl, we explore the confusion and isolation that comes with growing up in the shadow of trauma. We watch her navigate the pain of losing a father—someone who, in life, seemed like he would always be there—and the toll that his death takes on her family.
