Memoir of An Ordinary Person is my story. It’s about someone you don’t know and never heard of yet, you may recognize me in yourself. It’s a story about how I created a life that I dreamt of and made it mine.

Hi! I’m Carrie KC West. When I attended the American Film Institute, it was due to my love of stories and storytelling. Stories were how I comforted myself in the madness and terror of my childhood. I endured trauma and panic from the moment I took my first breath. As a child, my family rejected me. I learned to fend for myself, sometimes with near catastrophic results. And yet, I am now a thriving successful adult. This book is the story of making peace with the people who as my family, should have protected me, but didn’t. Through understanding and healing, I built an amazing, extraordinary life. In telling my story, I want to inspire others that they can overcome anything and have a life they've dreamed of too.

After much encouragement I wrote Memoir of An Ordinary Person to share and celebrate life. I know if I didn’t go through this exploration of change, I’d either commit violent acts or hurt myself and people I love to mitigate the deep emotional pain I felt. My adventure shows that we can heal and become more of who we are, more of who we are meant to be.

Who cares?

If your family was a mess of dysfunction and drama, it may comfort you to know that I can relate. Your story is a shared one. On the other hand, if your life was fairly free of the chaos, I hope you'll agree that it's time to tell this story that unfortunately too many people can relate to.  My book can help you understand how stories affect us, and most importantly, how stories can empower you to live a happy and fulfilling life, one that you dream of living. 

How's it going?

The book is written and ready for a professional edit. Once that's done, I will get it to the publishers to get it printed and ready to go. I eventually will add an audio version but that costs a ton of money. In fact this entire process was a lot more expensive than I thought, hence the crowdfunding campaign. I won't lie to you, I never thought I'd ask for help like this, but it turns out, it's been a great part of my journey to being extraordinary.

In the meantime, I have everyone standing by to take the project forward. As soon as money comes in we're off to the races! To give you an idea of it all here's some detail:

Why am I running a crowdfund campaign?

My plan is to launch the book and bring my work on Awakening to Your Dreams to a wider audience. I want this all to happen at the same time and have learned, as you've see above, that its expensive to do it and do it well. With your help, I can get everything done at the same time. In return, I will give you the first, hot of the press book and for some of you, a free session to show you how you too can have the life you dream of. I also have other great rewards that I hope you’ll enjoy.

I promise to only send a couple of thousand emails a day (joking).

Who am I really?

I am, as they say, an open book. I’ve rebuilt my social media footprint and am sharing probably too many photos of my puppy who runs our home and owns me and my heart. Besides, he’s a lot more interesting than my family.
