Story

DiCER is an engaging and dynamic board game designed for 2 to 6 players, created in England by the talented duo Nas and Ola. The objective of the game is simple yet thrilling to be the first player to navigate all five of your colourful pawns from your starting area around the board and into your home base, known as Star-Point.

The DiCER game board is typically square, featuring a track that consists of 49 numbered squares arranged for horizontal movement. Each player selects five pawns in a distinctive colour—usually red, blue, green, orange, or yellow. The gameplay is driven by eight-sided dice, which are uniquely designed with numbers 1 to 6, a star, and a minus sign on each of their eight faces.

The set comprises 30 pawns (counters), two dice, one shaker, a folding game board, and a bag for the pawns and dice, ensuring a comprehensive and engaging gameplay experience.

Game Overview:

Components:

• 5 pawns per player (these represent the player’s tokens on the board).
• 2 dice with 8 sides each (the faces show numbers 1-6, a star, and a minus sign).

Shaker (used for rolling the dice). To move your pawns around the board using the dice rolls, with the help of special symbols on the dice (the star and the minus sign).

The Board and Pieces

The DiCER board is typically square, featuring a numbered track from 1 to 49 with horizontal movements. Each player has five pawns, each in a distinct colour (commonly red, blue, green, orange, and yellow). The game also features two dice, each with numbers 1 to 6, a star symbol, and a minus sign on the 8 sides, which determine the movement of your pawns.

Setup

Each player places their five pawns in their designated starting area, located at one of the four corners of the board.

Rolling the Dice and Moving

Players take turns rolling the dice to move their pawns along the track. To get a pawn out of the starting area, simply roll the dice and move it forward by the number shown. You’ll continue advancing your pawns based on the dice rolls while strategizing your next moves and planning how to best block opponents or race ahead.

Reaching Your Home Base
In order to enter your Star-Point (home base), you must roll the exact number that allows you to land on the final space, number 49. Once you’ve reached the last space, you’ll need to roll a star to enter the Star-Point and complete your journey.

Succeeding

The first player to successfully move all five of their pawns into their Star-Point wins the game, claiming victory in this exciting race of strategy, luck, and skill!

How to Play:

1. Rolling the Dice:
   • Players take turns rolling both dice.
   • Number Rolls (1-6): You move your pawn forward by the number shown on the dice.
   • Star Roll: The star represents a 7, so it moves you forward by 7 spaces.
   • Minus Sign Roll: If a minus sign shows up, subtract the number on the second die from your move. If you roll two minus signs, your turn is skipped, and the next player goes clockwise.
2. Special Rules:
   • When both dice roll minus signs, the player's turn is skipped.
   • Movement is based on the number from the dice, adjusted by the minus symbol if applicable.

Winning the Game:

The first player to move all 5 of their pawns to the finish line wins!

Risks and challenges

Please be aware of the following important details: As with all board games, there may be potential delays in manufacturing and shipping. A large number of projects are currently being directed to China, and due to ongoing disruptions in the global supply chain, securing necessary materials or manufacturing and assembly time may become more challenging.

A primary concern is international freight, which has been further complicated by instability in the Red Sea. This may result in ships needing to take longer routes around the African continent, potentially adding weeks to their journey. While we will do everything possible to ensure the game ships on time, please understand that unforeseen circumstances could lead to extended timelines.

Our mission is to eliminate plastic pollution in our oceans. We minimise plastic use by opting for sustainable alternatives like wood for tile racks and pencils, biodegradable corn-starch baggies in place of plastic, and paper wrappers for card decks instead of shrink-wrapping.

Additionally, all our packing cartons are crafted from 100% recycled paper pulp. Our boxes and punch boards are made entirely from recycled materials, printed with eco-friendly soy inks, and certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), ensuring responsible sourcing and environmental sustainability.
