Dendritic Dreams is a massive wonderland-themed art installation coming to Black Rock City in 2022. Brought to you by the artists, welders, designers, and woodworkers at Dust Lux Labs. It is our love letter to Burning Man and we’ve included all of our favorite things about the open playa.

Our Installation:
We can’t wait to bring you our botanical playground; a magical space for community gatherings and performance. Find us on the open playa, where you can climb on top cottages, across giant mushrooms, and into the trees to enjoy 360 degree panoramic views of the glittering playa-scape below. Find secret spots to swing, nap, slide and take refugee from the sun or harsh desert dust storms. Explore immersive environments, where resident magicians serve up healing elixirs in projection mapped environments. If you stay awhile, our collective of aerialists butterflies and forest creatures might descend from the canopy to mesmerize you with the grace and courage that only creatures of this unique grove can display.

Dendritic Dreams is a multi-media installation in the truest sense. It is part innovation in parametrically-designed plywood sculpture. It is part steel and dimensional wood - climbable playground skinned in vibrant colorful textiles - artfully patterned and sewn together to emulate the beautiful flora and foliage of a deciduous forest.
Our Crew:
Since 1997, our talented crew of longtime burners and performers have provided to the Burn in so many ways: building esplanade camps, managing art projects, performing and choreographing with Garnish conclave (the longest running fire conclave on the playa)! Not to mention years of creating off-playa art, designing and building installations, and managing construction projects. Our performance team has been teaching, directing, and performing aerial arts, fire dancers, and contortion for more than a decade. But 2022 is extra special for us. Because this is our first open playa installation.
And we are going BIG!

About the Designer
After a career teaching engineering and robotics with Lego, Sam Bridgham returns to the Burn after an 11 year absence with a small rodeo of Lego animatronic flowers and butterflies. Most recently known for art bombing the public spaces of Durango, Colorado with Lego art, his pre-parent life happened mainly in places like Alaska, Arizona and the Bay Area, teaching, climbing and always dreaming.

About Jenae
Jenae is a dedicated burner and artist. Her first artistic contributions to Burning Man were in the form of fire dancing for the conclave Oregon Fire Conclave in 2014, and then Garnish from 2015 on. Jenae is a circus performance artist by occupation in the default world. She performs a multitude of disciples for private events, corporate gatherings, and large festivals.

Drink Water! is a semi-weekly web comic written and illustrated by DC Wilson. The tale is a classic struggle of man vs. fish, an epic comedy of redemption and rehydration set in the dusty desert town of Black Rock City, Nevada.
About the Author:
DC Wilson (aka Neptune Zebracorn) is an artist and illustrator from Philadelphia, PA. He has performed thirteen years with the Burning Man Fire Conclave, is the founder of the Garnish Fire Conclave, and the co-founder of KSF. He currently serves as a Regional Contact for the Burning Man Project, and has lived in Black Rock City off and on since 1999.
