Our guest curators are driven by the opportunity to give a voice to the many amazing local artists to tell their stories. Guest Curator, Roxanne Charles would like you to take a second look at the mural below. Can you see how The Frog is at the mouth of a pipeline, possibly protecting the coast from diluted bitumen? Your donation helps us support local artists from Tsleil Waututh Nation like Jordan Gallie and Erhen Snow to create bold and meaningful art like, "The Frog" (2018 VMF).

After providing 4 epic years of VMF, an entirely free public arts festival, we are extending a hand to all our supporters and those who want to see VMF continue into 2020. We want more than anything to provide the best VMF yet for our 5th year, but we simply cannot do it without your help.
Thanks to grants and sponsorships, we're able to pay our mural artists and our production crew at market rates for their creations. Pay ranges depending on size, scale, difficulty, accessibility, safety, and a number of other factors. There are so many costs associated with making the Vancouver Mural Festival a reality each year, and this year we are turning to you, our city, to help us become an even more sustainable non-profit org that brings so much awesome to Vancouver each year.

All donations go towards painting murals in the city including paying
for supplies, artist fees, and necessary equipment. 
Fun fact: Did you know that most of our artists are
local, Vancouver artists who are doing their very first mural? A huge
part of our mission is to give meaningful opportunities to local
artists and strong mentorship so they can go big with their art.
About VMF
Vancouver Mural Festival is organized by Create Vancouver Society, a Registered Non-Profit dedicated to artistic and cultural development in the Lower Mainland. Through the creation of permanent large-scale public murals, we provide a platform for Vancouver's diverse art scene to contribute to the city’s cultural legacy for years to come. Our annual festival takes place for a week in August in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, and we work throughout the year with neighbourhoods around the Lower Mainland to highlight the local culture and stories of their area.

You Get: Good vibes! $5 is actually a big deal. If all 150,000 people that enjoyed our festival every year give this amount, we would be able to buy a lot of paint brushes!
You get: Twice the good vibes as if you gave $5!. We use about 2000 cans of paint every year across our events and special projects. We also donate our extra unused paint to non-profits like the Overdose Prevention Society for the creation of yet more murals. Your $10 will make paint colours like "Mayonnaise, Hugs and Kisses, Tornado Season and Mown Grass" come to life!
