Welcome to Burning Man 2025:
DROP
A Womb of Reflection, Nourishment, and Awakening
Design & Vision
DROP is a soft sculpture shaped as a 5-meter-tall drop of mother’s milk — a symbol of purity, nourishment, and life. Yet this purity is not untouched. Created from textile waste and pulsing with LED veins of microplastic rivers, DROP holds a mirror to the paradox of care and contamination, asking us to consider the legacy we leave behind. Within its glowing core, the lights pulse in the rhythm of a child’s heartbeat — tender, fragile, and insistent — reminding us what we choose to protect, and what we risk losing.
Inspired by the 2024 piece Microplastic Milk Rivers and crafted by our Lead Artist, DROP is as much a sanctuary as it is a wake-up call — a space to sit inside, to reflect, and to leave your mark.
Inside its soft, woven walls, you’ll find a quiet nook for intimate gatherings, knowledge-sharing, and collaborative storytelling.
All are invited to write their thoughts, prayers, or questions directly onto the walls — co-weaving a tapestry of personal and planetary stories in real time.
As Rumi said, “You are not a drop in the ocean, but an ocean in a drop.”
This is DROP’s heartbeat — personal, communal, planetary.
Why It Matters
DROP invites touch. It invites care. And it invites
each participant to ask:
What kind of mark will I leave?
Built entirely from discarded textiles + reused metal waste and co-sewn by people with special needs from Estonia’s rural communities, DROP is an act of healing on many levels — environmental, social, and spiritual.
Every inch of this sculpture is filled with stories, skills, and resilience. It challenges the dominant narrative of waste by turning it into wonder.
This is not just an art installation.
It is a cradle of renewal.
A soft
protest.
A giant, pulsating reminder
that what we do —
how we consume, create, care —
leaves an imprint.
How You Can Help
DROP is made possible by the people. While the project has received a Burning Man Honoraria Grant, that only covers a portion of the full journey. From materials and logistics to LED systems and everything in between, we need your support to bring DROP to the desert.
Your donation directly supports:
-
Sustainable and unmixed textile waste materials being used
-
Lighting installations and power
-
Desert-ready construction and transport
-
Tools, shelter, and safety for our build crew
-
Creative workshops and interactive programming inside the sculpture and in Support Camp
Even if you can’t contribute financially, you can make a difference by sharing our story. Help us expand this ripple across borders — because every share is another drop in the ocean.

DROP resurrected shirt
As a part of our Resurrection Collection , this oversized shirt carries the visible marks of transformation.
These shirts came from the textile waste stream —brand new and clean, wearable, but with large, commercial logos on the sleeves. We couldn’t unbrand them… so we cut them off .
But where we made that cut — to stop the “bleeding” — we stitched life back in.
🧵 The Healing is the Feature
Each shirt has a unique hand-sewn ruffle , patch, or decorative detail where the logo used to be. These colorful additions are made from leftover scraps, transforming the wound into something expressive, playful, and proud.
They say:
“This didn’t end here. This became something else.”
