Season 12 of the audio fiction comedy "Am I Old Yet?" is in production, now! And this season takes the form of a 6-episode mini-series, with cliffhangers. Sort of...
"Am I Old Yet?" is a coming-of-age audio fiction comedy with a difference. The central protagonist is an elderly woman attempting to negotiate her experience of old age with humour and a degree of dignity. She shares her frustrations, triumphs, and senior moments with her family, friends and random strangers, some of whom become close friends over time.
From the beginning, this has been 'self-funded' - i.e. out of my pocket. That means, all the recording equipment, the hosting service that distributes the audio to all the apps, the dedicated website etc. All the actors and musician/composers have given their time and talents for free, and all the production (recording, editing, sound design and production) is done by me, myself, alone.
The time has come to convert this beloved project into a fully professional one, whereby everybody gets paid a reasonable amount for their time, their talents and their wonderfully creative contributions and support. There are seven actors, one musician and one sound engineer/designer/ dialogue editor.
You can help to make this happen. Your support, however small, will contribute to these wonderful creative artists being recompensed for their work. They all have rent or mortgages to pay, families to support. I am eternally grateful for their generously donated time and efforts to date - they really deserve to be recompensed properly.
As well as our undying gratitude for your contributions, there are also 'perks', including the eBook "Baked Off! the Cookbook" for absolutely everyone, as well as badges, t-shirts and early access to all 6 episodes (ad-free) as soon as they are ready, well in advance of general publication.
***** Delightful Just listened to episode 9 season 7… a delicious romp with important ideas. Thanks Flloyd Kennedy. Will share!
***** Wow! I thought it was a unique podcast just from the premise, but four episodes into the series, I am finding it a rather surprisingly… moving experience! With a balanced mix of move-you-to-tears drama and comic relief, Flloyd crafts a relatable tale that can touch… ‘You’, no matter where you come from, what you do and, most importantly, how old you are!
Welcome to the team!
