Showing the World the Beauty of San Francisco

We did it!  We brought a defining moment of celebration to San Francisco while the eyes of the world focused on our city during the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) event, November 13-17.

As world leaders convened from 21 countries, including US President Joe Biden and Xi Jinping, President of the People's Republic of China, Illuminate WOWed the world. Using 12 laser space cannons to fill the length and width of Market Street with an extraordinary array of intertwined laser beams, IIluminate celebrated the vitality of San Francisco and signified unity among cooperating nations.

Called "Illuminate San Francisco," the four-night installation brought San Franciscans and visitors on Market Street an extraordinary immersive experience.

Elevated security costs for the entire event stripped the long-planned effort of city funding, so Illuminate has created a crowdfunding effort to cover the $150,000 cost of bringing this four-night spectacle to the city - and the world.

San Francisco's reputation is a bit tattered right now, but this is a city to be celebrated in the eyes of the world.
