Friday, July 26 - We're almost there! This coming weekend is our second to last weekend at the Loom, and our last truck will depart on August 3rd as we officially close our build space in Oakland and release our incredible crew of volunteers to have less than 48 hours to pack before departing for Playa. Temple Build is around the corner!

We have faced a setback this week with two major gift pledges (one $80K cash donor and one $215K stock donor) choosing to redirect their funds to political ends with what is going on in our country. This comes exactly when we prepare to pay our largest invoices, including food and water for our Build Crew of volunteers who will be in the desert for a month working from 8 AM - 7 PM to bring Temple to the participants of Black Rock City. However, we believe that things happen for a reason and that this is an opportunity to rally our collective community around the power of Temple and of every single contribution, no matter how large or how small. $10 pays to feed a crew member one meal, $5 to provide them with water for one day in the 100+ degree heat. If you have the capacity and intention to give, we need your help to bring Temple to Playa in a way that loves up on and thanks all of our volunteers for all of the collective care and intention that has been imbued into our Pre-Build since March 2. 

For 24 years, Temple teams have gone into Playa exhausted, underfunded, and under immense pressure. It's time to shift that narrative and support the energetic source of Temple moving into abundance and flow.

THANK YOU - we've reached $96K!!!! STRETCH GOAL: +$40K structural engineering

Wednesday, April 24: THANK YOU - we did it! We hit our initial goal of $96,000, which helps us cover not just materials but also the build space, contracting with structural engineering, and some equipment rental. 

Can you help us fully cover the costs of structural engineering before our campaign ends? If we can get to $136,000 in the next few days, this final $40,000 raised will go towards fully funding our structural engineering review and implementation in our pre-build and on-Playa build.

Each year, the Burning Man Temple build is an enormous communal effort.

Hundreds of people get involved as volunteers in pre-playa activities, and 100+ people spend up to 2.5 weeks in the Black Rock Desert before the Burning Man event starts!

The Temple brings together people with a myriad of skills as well as “unskilled" volunteers who want to learn on the job.

The Temple of Together is about the light that emerges when we come together with all parts of ourselves and with the oneness we share with every other living being. 

In this time of global challenge and conflict, she invites each of us to unfurl under her protection and be seen, loved, and inspired.

The Temple is not just a structure - it's a sanctuary, a testament to human ingenuity, and to boundless possibilities. 

What Makes the 2024 Temple Unique?

• Innovative Design: The Temple of Together seamlessly blends ancient khaizaran weaving wisdom with cutting-edge technology, creating a space that intends to transcends time and cultures to lovingly hold each and every one of us in the full spectrum of our human experience. 
• Community Hub: Beyond its walls, the 2024 Temple fosters connection and collaboration, bringing people together from all walks of life. You are invited to join us at the Loom for our Build Weekends (every Saturday and Sunday from 10 AM - 4 PM at 2150 Livingston Street in Oakland) and join us digitally every month in our Monthly Town Halls (the 24th of every month at 12 PM PT). 
• Sustainability: We're committed to environmental stewardship, incorporating eco-friendly practices into every aspect of the Temple's design and operation. The Temple will be constructed from reclaimed materials, including lumber milled from trees felled in California wildfires. We will be using solar power for our build, and offsetting our carbon emissions from aspects of our build and transport that can not be sustainably substituted. Our Sustainability team will also be tracking and publishing an Environmental Impact Report at the conclusion of our Burn, in the Fall of 2024.
