I have worked on this project for the past 5 years in hopes that I can fulfill my purpose to help others overcome the challenges I have also experienced, such as losing our truths, independence, and voice. The inspiration for Smash Studio Co comes from the power of taking our broken pieces and putting them back together into something new and better. Breaking plates and creating smash art gave me my voice back, and I believe it can do the same for others.
Our ultimate mission is suicide prevention by offering various kintsugi-inspired smash services and products designed as an aide for relieving stress. A Rage Room with a twist. Refusing to clean up after someone else's S#!% since we did that our entire life, we decided on deviating from traditional rage rooms. Instead, incorporate 23.75K gold into finished pieces of smash art, created in real-time to add additional value to our clients. Whether releasing that stress on a cellular level leaves you with a symbol of reclaimed anger, creative teamwork, or commemorating a significant life event or milestone, every piece is transformed into a unique body of work from a one-of-a-kind experience.
By taking the broken pieces of glass and creating large-scale projects for those in active addiction to contribute to, we entice curiosity and invoke positive psychology-reinforcing rebuild of confidence amongst and within peers, community and self. Pride and purpose are what keep them wanting to come back, promote and participate in. Lucky to have survived the drug poisoning, they can be the voice for their fallen brothers and sisters murdered in the opioid crisis and help them to process grief and mournfully. All while reclaiming their truths and gaining back their voices and those of the fallen. Empowering them to process their journey within the processes of concept to realization and exhibition in the smash art process. These projects put them in a positive light amongst media and newspaper outlets, instead of sacrificing them to sell fear, disconnecting them from their communities; guilty by the headline. Some being arrested on the same breach for over 7 years is a little disgusting, but to then be castrated and exiled by your community with social humiliation, is murder.
All merch is produced and packaged by those in the vulnerable population and is helping continue fostering financial independence with every purchase and order. By maintaining these programs, we can continue to lay the foundation and invite more individuals on board. Historically, If we couldn't get them to come to us, we went to them and will continue to do so, so that their histories read more them a nameless headline.
From modelling the Tees to illustrating fonts or programs for the exhibitions, we aim to give those who've never been anywhere the opportunity to fly around the world with this murder of crows, giving voices back to those who had never and will never have that chance again. Because at the end of the day, crows protect their murder from murder and are the only animal with 3-way cognitive thinking like a human which is why they always outsmart humans' attempts to exterminate them.
