Embarking on the journey to bring "PK Man" to the screen is both a personal passion and a mission to explore the extraordinary power of human potential by award winning filmmaker Lance Mungia, director/producer of narrative action films including Six String Samurai and The Crow: Wicked Prayer, as well as the groundbreaking ESP documentary Third Eye Spies.  Lance is also a producer of James Fox's successful UFO documentaries The Phenomenon and The Program.  Lance is directing this new project, which is being produced with pioneering parapsychologist and host of the YouTube channel New Thinking Allowed, Jeffrey Mishlove PhD, who authored the book, "The PK Man".

Ted Owens, known as the "PK Man," claimed to possess psychokinetic abilities to move matter and even reality itself with his mind, granted by "Space Intelligences," enabling him to influence weather patterns, predict natural disasters, influence behavior and even summon UFOs.

His story, meticulously documented across multiple decades by Mishlove and written about in his book, "The PK Man", challenges our understanding of human potential and the mysteries of the mind. 

Why This Project?

Ted Owens was not just a study subject of Mishlove's.  Mishlove was at times perhaps Owens's only confidant and friend.   Their unique relationship allowed Mishlove to archive hundreds of pages of correspondence, sworn affidavits from witnesses to Owens's unbelievable feats of psychokinesis, and his hundreds of predictions in newspapers, magazines and other media that Owens either accurately predicted... or, as he claimed, caused to occur.  Decades ago and anticipating a documentary someday, Mishlove interviewed Owens himself and others at the time in newly remastered audio, which gives invaluable historic perspective into Owens's life story and how he himself believed his incredible PK powers worked. 

These unique insights into the fascinating, flawed, brilliant mind of Ted Owens are at once incredibly rare, often never before seen, entertaining and shocking as to what they may represent to us all.

By adapting his story into a film, we aim to delve deeply into these phenomena, sparking curiosity and fostering dialogue about the expansion of human ability, the unexplained forces that may influence our world, and our fundamental entanglement with those forces and our biosphere itself.  

Project Overview and Supporter Rewards

Our film will chronicle Ted Owens's life, from his initial experiences with alleged "Space Intelligences" to his documented demonstrations of psychokinesis.  We will also be conducting contemporary interviews with experts in the field of consciousness studies and the paranormal to demonstrate how the primacy of consciousness has expanded into the cutting edge scientific community. 

Through dramatic re-enactments, news and other media documenting the events portrayed, and through the reading of correspondence that puts us into the mind of Owens himself, we will explore his interactions with scientists, skeptics, and the broader public, presenting a balanced narrative that lets viewers draw their own conclusions.

Why Crowdfunding?

Traditional film financing often shies away from unconventional topics like psychokinesis and UFO phenomena. By choosing crowdfunding, we aim to maintain creative freedom and bring this unique story to life authentically. The funds raised will cover essential aspects such as animated re-enactments, travel to interviews, and the purchase of needed archival material.  Our funding goal may not cover all the expenses to distribute the final film.  We will be adding updates and sub-campaigns showing off our progress as we move toward distribution.
