Dear Friends and Supporters,

 

We are excited to announce Kamayan Fest, a free outdoor festival in Vancouver dedicated to celebrating Filipino food, art, and culture. This event will bring together the rich traditions and vibrant community spirit that define Filipinx heritage. However, organizing such a unique and inclusive event comes with its challenges, and we’ve faced some difficulties in securing the necessary funds.

 

To make Kamayan Fest a reality, we need your help. We are turning to our community and mutual aid to gather the resources needed for event logistics, rentals, artists, performers, volunteers, and general event items. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact and help us create an unforgettable experience for everyone.

 

Why Kamayan Fest?

"Kamayan" means "to eat with your hands," symbolizing a communal and inclusive way of sharing food and stories. Kamayan Fest aims to bring people together in the same spirit of community and togetherness. We want to showcase the richness of Filipinx culture through delicious food, stunning art, and captivating performances.

 

How You Can Help:

Your donation will go directly towards covering the costs of:

  • Event Logistics : Permits, insurance, and other essential arrangements.
  • Rentals : Tents, tables, chairs, and sound systems.
  • Artists and Performers : Supporting local Filipino talents who will bring the event to life.
  • Volunteers : Providing meals, transportation, and appreciation tokens.
  • General Event Items : Decor, signage, and other necessary materials.
