Enjoyed Atlas: The Animated Movie? Support the next SUPERZEROES adventure! 

The cinematic universe full of bargain bin heroes is just getting started - and YOU can help bring further stories to life.

Since 2022, YouTuber and filmmaker Austin McConnell has been building a shared universe based on forgotten Golden Age characters from the public domain. The next story, THE SENSATIONAL CAT-MAN, is almost ready! This traditional 2D animated movie is made by humans with love, and you can help us finish its production (and launch out into the next story) by supporting our campaign today. 

This crowdfund is for those who missed out on previous campaigns, or have just discovered the universe and want to hop on board. (Hey, even if you want to pitch in again and help us continue bringing these abandoned heroes back to life, we're happy for all the support we can get.)   

THE MOVIES

It started with Atlas: The Animated Movie, featuring the magnificent Man of Might in a zany origin story about building yourself into the hero the world needs.

Next, we dive into the seedy underworld of Skyline City for THE SENSATIONAL CAT-MAN  - A wacky noir-detective-superhero cartoon based on the public domain hero David Merryweather and his alter ego, THE CAT-MAN. 

The animation is locked, and we’re putting the finishing touches on the movie: final edits, cleanup, sound, music, mix, and all the tiny invisible details that make a film feel complete. The movie is slated for release in Q4 2026. 

The next story is in preproduction, and as with previous crowdfunding campaigns, the scale of the project depends on how much we raise.

Why Another Campaign?

The public release of Atlas: The Animated Movie is bringing a whole new group of people into the Superzeroes universe, and we want to keep that momentum going.

The Sensational Cat-Man cartoon is almost done, and this campaign gives us a chance to put some extra polish on the film as we bring it across the finish line, while also helping us hit the ground running on what comes next.

This campaign is for new fans discovering The Superzeroes through Atlas who want to help make the next adventure possible. It's for people who missed the limited-time Cat-Man Kickstarter and would still like a chance to get involved. And it's for longtime supporters who want to help us keep pre-production moving without losing momentum once Cat-Man is out.

If you backed The Sensational Cat-Man Cartoon Kickstarter, nothing has changed about the rewards you were already promised! You do not need to back this campaign again to receive your copy of the movie or any other rewards from that campaign.

Think of this campaign as a way to keep the production calendar going: finishing Cat-Man as strongly as we can, welcoming a new wave of Superzeroes fans, and giving the next ridiculous adventure a running start.

Where the Money Goes

Your contribution goes directly toward things like: Sound design, Original music, Audio mixing, Voice acting, Animation, Final edits, Rendering and delivery costs, artwork and promotional materials.

Depending on how much we raise, we’ll scale the next project accordingly. A modest campaign helps us add final polish to Cat-Man and get the next adventure moving. A stronger campaign lets us go bigger, bring in more collaborators, and expand the universe faster.

What if we don't hit the goal?

We're still committed to finishing and delivering The Sensational Cat-Man movie in 2026. This is a Keep-It-All campaign, which means we'll receive the funds raised even if we don't reach the full goal. Whatever we DO raise will help us put the finishing touches on Cat-Man and move future Superzeroes stories forward.

Risks and Challenges

Independent animation is hard and takes time. The good news is that The Sensational Cat-Man is already in the final stages! This production is not starting from zero. Rather, we’re seeking finishing funds and preparing for what comes next.

The main challenges are the usual indie-film realities: final post-production, scheduling artists, managing sound and music, and making sure the final movie is delivered at the best quality we can achieve with the resources available. 

Having said that - It's a movie, yeah? There could be delays in production, unforeseen circumstances, technological shortcomings, etc. Stuff happens, especially with a project this big. However, despite setbacks, our first movie in the series, ATLAS: THE ANIMATED MOVIE was completed and delivered, and CAT-MAN's animation is locked...all that remains is post-production and final delivery.
