As devoted readers and lifelong romantics, we’ve found immense joy and comfort in these stories. Our mission is to create a warm, inclusive space where readers of all backgrounds can feel at home, connect with others, and escape the monotony of daily life. We’re dedicated to celebrating and uplifting the romantic stories we adore and honoring the talented authors who bring them to life. What Our Bookbar Will Offer:

• • Diverse Romance Collections : A thoughtfully curated selection of romance novels from a wide range of authors, including Historical, Contemporary, Fantasy/Paranormal, YA, Dark, Western, LGBTQA+, Sports, Billionaire, and more! Our focus will be on showcasing diverse voices and stories that reflect the rich tapestry of romance literature.
  • Book inspired Beverages: An array of romance-inspired drinks, including coffee, teas, non-alcoholic mocktails, and alcoholic cocktails. Each beverage is thoughtfully crafted to capture the essence of your favorite romance novels. Whether you're curling up with a book or socializing with fellow romance enthusiasts, our unique drink offerings are sure to add a touch of magic to your visit.
  • Safe and Inclusive Environment : A space designed to be welcoming to everyone, where readers can feel comfortable and valued.
  • Community and Connection : Opportunities to gather, make friends, and engage in discussions about our favorite books. We’ll host book clubs, author events, and special bookish crafting events to foster a sense of community.
  • Celebration of Romance : Regular events and activities to celebrate the romance genre and the talented authors who write these stories.

WHY WE NEED FUNDING

Opening and operating a small business comes with its own set of financial challenges. With substantial personal finances already invested in inventory, marketing, and various other start-up expenses, we find ourselves needing an additional $55,000 to fully bring our vision to life. This funding will cover essential costs such as renovations, furniture and fixtures, permits, and initial operating expenses as we start our journey. While we are actively applying for various grants & loans, every donation helps us move closer to making this dream a reality. We’re excited to share this adventure with you and appreciate any additional support you can offer!

So, where’s all this money going? Here’s the scoop—we promise to be as transparent as a glass of our finest cocktail. Here’s the breakdown:

• $10,000 Furniture & Fixtures: Think cozy chairs, bookcases to house your new favorite reads, and lighting so flattering even your selfies will look good. Plus, bar stools and some charming knickknacks to give our space that "I want to hang out here forever" vibe.

• $25,000 Bar Buildout & Equipment: This is for turning a bare space into the ultimate drink-making haven. 

• $8,000 Permitting: Because apparently, state liquor licenses and city permits don’t come with a “buy one, get one free” offer. Who knew bureaucracy could be so pricey?

• $10,000 Remodel & Improvements: To transform our space from "meh" to "wow." New flooring, fresh paint, and decor to ensure you feel like you’re in a chic, romantic hideaway rather than a dull, abandoned warehouse.

• $2,000 Signage: Because we’d like you to actually find us—after all, we’re aiming for “memorable” not “where did I park my car again?”
