Before Lucky Newt Games, I took on and created commissions for
other creators. The need to make my own work that I could share with
my family grew stronger and stronger with time. It tickled the back
of my mind and wouldn't leave me alone.
Over the last 15 years, my partner, Nick, and I made some games
to play between the two of us.
Once MiniNewt was born though, she inspired us to create games
we would want to play with her as she grows. We realized we couldn't
be the only people in search of such games, and thus created Lucky
Newt Games.
Now we create games that we take great pride in. Our games are family-friendly and designed to promote equity. It's very important to us to keep it that way.
With the ever-changing political landscape, it is becoming more
important for indie game creators to have legal protections. An LLC
provides such legal protections.
An LLC, or Limited Liability Company, is “a U.S. legal
entity used to own, operate and protect a business. LLCs provide
the same legal and financial protections corporations do but can
be simpler to operate.”

According to Forbes, the first disadvantage of an LLC is cost. Between the filing fee, license application, and the annual report fee (paid every year), the money adds up. This is where you come in.
In order to support this goal, we are offering you digital
bundles of awesome family-friendly games. You can try them out
yourself and play them with your families and game groups. You can
even choose multiple bundles to mix and match themes.
Any proceeds raised from the sale of these bundles will support Lucky Newt’s goal of becoming an LLC. We also have some fun Stretch Goals should we manage to surpass our goal, and a "Make Our LLC Airtight" wish that isn't needed, but would be nice.
This campaign is a keep-it-all campaign, which means Lucky Newt Games will keep as much as is earned in order to cover as many of the below costs as possible.

Delivering quality games to you is important to us. We will be taking time to review each game, cleaning them up and updating them as needed so we can provide you with the newest available version. To keep organized, we’ll go through them one bundle at a time.

While this is my first crowdfunding project, all of the games will be in digital form, so there will be no potential issues with printing companies or shipping and handling. All games other than YASSIFIED Game (working title), Chrysalis Dreams, and Rooster and Owl are completed, only requiring some updates and touch-ups. As for the three games that haven't been made yet, I already have the framework down for them and just need to work out from there. I was also careful to leave plenty of time to update the various bundles
As with any campaign, there are risks and potential delays. I will keep you informed of anything that occurs and will work to address those issues promptly.
