Nelms Music Planet Background & History

Hello, I am Nina Nelms, CEO of Nelms Music Planet, LLC (NMP), an independent record label.  NMP is the result of my life-long dream to pursue success in the music industry from the business side.  The dream is now being realized and the journey is well underway.

Nelms Music Planet creates and produces music across the genres below:

The label specializes in developing up and coming talented Artists with unique creativity not yet heard.  The label launched in March 2018, and since then we have established key business partnerships to enable and support Artists' success.  NMP pridefully differentiates itself by being the only independent record label in the music industry providing Artists freedom and flexibility to be themselves - - releasing unlimited creativity.

Purpose of Crowdfunding Campaign

I have personally invested money to self-fund Nelms Music Planet since its inception.  Although our Christian/Gospel/Inspirational portfolio is doing very well, with three signed Artists (see NMP Current Artists' tab), we are now ready to expand and are in need of financial support.  To continue the current successful momentum and sign new Artists across other genres, significant additional funding is necessary. 

The purpose and goal of this campaign are to raise $250K, by 3/30/23, to support the expansion of the record label, sign new artists and pay for recording studio sessions, music producers, sound engineers, set musicians, background vocalists, marketing, branding, promotions and travel expenses. 

While funding expansion and growth is the priority for this campaign, NMP is also donating 20% of all funds raised to charities and public schools to support music programs for minority students in underserved, underprivileged, marginalized communities in Texas.  Specifically, NMP will purchase musical instruments for minority students, assist with marching band uniforms and support high school jazz bands and symphonic orchestras in marginalized Texas communities.  This cause is extremely important to me because music should be diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible to all.  I am a classically trained musician and was blessed to have parents that were able to purchase my clarinet, piano and organ - - that is not the case for all students.  Further, learning to play several instruments was an important discipline for me and has served me well.  I've applied this discipline to several areas of my life and want to ensure other minority students have the same opportunity.
