America’s border is a WAR ZONE! 

The US border with Mexico has been overrun with lawless coyotes flowing across the Rio Grande, bringing in weapons, smuggling illegal drugs, and trafficking sex slaves across the country! Border Patrol agents are overwhelmed and seemingly powerless, while the U.S. government refuses to help. In fact, the administration seems to actively support  open borders…

But when the violence reaches his doorstep, one man takes matters into his own hands…

Private American follows Marcos Zamora, a patriotic, first generation Cuban-American and a former Army Green Beret, as he and his partner Gustavo battle criminals crossing the southern border, including cartels, human traffickers, and terrorists, and enemies of the state who are taking advantage of the border chaos to bring in desperate migrants, fentanyl, and suitcase bombs, leaving thousands of victims spread across the landscape.

But none of them counted on a skilled counter-insurgency by men like Marcos and Gus, and none of them can predict where or when they will strike back next.

While U.S. border patrol can't find the pair, many agents secretly root for them. Meanwhile the Vile Council, a syndicate of cartel bosses and Chinese fentanyl smugglers, frustrated by this pair of skilled vigilantes, decides to bring in the world’s most feared assassin in order to help rid them of this 'Private American'.

Marcos is a mash-up between  The Punisher, whom Baron wrote for over 5 years at  Marvel Comics, and their star spangled Avenger  Captain America. And much like Baron's last graphic novel Thin Blue Line, a decidedly pro-police action-thriller, this book's subject matter will likely prevent it from ever finding a home at a mainstream comics publishing house, so we're publishing this one ourselves.

The Creative Team

Two time Eisner-Award and Inkpot Award winning writer Mike Baron is perhaps best known for his acclaimed 5 year run on Marvel's very first ongoing  The Punisher  series, along with acclaimed runs on DC's The Flash and Dark Horse Comics' Star Wars titles. Baron has also created many of his own celebrated comic characters such as  Nexus,  The Badger, and  Florida Man.

Rich Bonk  began his comics career at Top Cow Productions, drawing on the title  Ascension along with other popular titles like  The Darkness,  Tales of the Witchblade and  Witchblade: Destiny's Child. At DC Comics he worked on  Superman:Y2K,  Young Justice and  Emperor Joker. Later at Image Comics, he worked on  The Tenth and  F-5, and co-inked several issues of  Spawn: The Dark Ages. Bonk later worked at Dark Horse Comics, doing covers for  Buffy the Vampire Slayer and  Spy Boy

Ichsan Ansori  is handling the digital colors and has worked on several major comicbooks, including Mike Baron's  Florida Man,  Thin Blue Line, and his new  Nexus  graphic novel for Dark Horse Comics, written by Baron, and drawn by none other than Richard Bonk!

Together they have expertly crafted an explosive, gritty, political thriller ripped right from today's national headlines and exposing the dangerous activities happening across America's porous borders.

Sadly our nation's border security is a divisive subject, and so we know that many indie comic publishers would never dare to distribute a story like this. However, we're convinced that this wildly entertaining and timely tale deserves to be told, particularly in light of how badly America's border with Mexico is being overrun.

This is a one of a kind graphic novel that's mature, entertaining, and never preachy, that proves once and for all that  real heroes don't wear spandex... they wear Kevlar and night vision glasses!
