BRETT WARNOCK. CAREERS I HAVE KNOWN
In a previous career spanning twenty years I was a comic book publisher. Chris Staros and I founded and ran a company called Top Shelf Productions. I "retired" several years back when we sold the company. I've also worked in food service over the last thirty years as a bartender, waiter, prep cook, line cook, host, food runner, beer buyer, wine steward, and so forth.
COOKING UP SOMETHING NEW
In November of 2017, after working
a few uninspiring day jobs, I decided to take the plunge and combine
my two passions of food and publishing, and KITCHEN TABLE was born.
Issue #1 came out in February of 2019. Given my background, the
magazine is meant to be a luscious visual treat and includes tons of
illustration. (And photos and comics.)

ORIGINAL ARTWORK BY WOLFGANG SCHEIBE of TATTI STAMPA, the
smallest print shop in Maremma, Italy. Lane Selman from Culinary
Breeding Network brought these back from Italy. This lovely
art is a screen-printand featuring Treviso radicchio in the back of
an Ape (“ape” is Italian for “bee” and they are adorable Italian
3-wheeled utilitarian mini trucks).
WOLFGANG IS AN ARTIST, musician, biodynamic grower, philosopher,
and revolutionary that was born in Germany in 1947. He learned to be
a traditional typesetter in the 1960s, the old Johann Gutenberg way.
In 2007 he relocated to Tatti in Southern Tuscany with his wife. He
has a small print shop where he crafts shirts, posters, and other
graphic products.
