    Hi Crowdfundrs,

Is it possible to have more options for the social media account connections?

In my experience Twitter is by far the most profitable for pledges, I funded 80% of my graphic novel through the platform. Facebook & Instagram are at the very lowest end of pledges. I’ve not yet heard of anyone funding comics on LinkedIn.

    Many thanks!

Lucy, if you don’t mind me asking, how did you advertise on twitter? Do you just have a large following, or did you pay for ads?

Hi Russ, I built my Twitter following whilst crowdfunding Barking, my debut graphic novel.

I promoted tirelessly & with live links (this was pre-algorithm days) I could track the pledges so know that 80% came from Twitter.

The greatest benefit on the platform was getting backers with large following numbers retweeting & supporting the campaign. I was lucky to get support from Shelly Bond (DC/ Vertigo) & Jeff Lemire.

My current Twitter following is 4K & I’d very much like to link to that. Especially as there is little to no organic traffic on Crowdfundr yet.

Hey Lucy. Any tips on growing your twitter followers? I’ve noticed that it’s also my #1 source of traffic (though instagram does help as well).

Interactions seem to be key. Posting about other peopled comics. RTs of their tweets & campaigns (except KS in my case) & not just posting promo tweets.

It’s generally friendly within the Small Press community.

I’d get in touch with some bloggers & podcasters too. Broken Frontier is a big UK one. Also Dan Berry’s ‘Make It Then Tell Everyone’ podcast

Hi Lucy – great request, I think you’re spot on here. ‘Renovating’ the social sharing capabilities is a work in progress on our end.

It’s super helpful to hear your preference for Twitter, that’s similar to what we see across all Crowdfundr campaigns. Do you have other suggestions for improving the sharing/shareability?

Wonderful! Glad you think so too.

Twitter is usually good for sharing within & by the comics community.

However the algorithms are not great for off site links. I’ve had to post links in replies to my own campaign tweets. Very frustrating Some Crowdfundr hashtags could be beneficial.

Building the community & presence around Crowdfundr on Twitter is a definite must.
