Prompted by today’s Q&A, it would be great to have fulfillment options for digital-only products! So, for example, if you have a PDF reward for a comic, the ability to 1) upload the PDF to Crowdfundr and 2) distribute links or download codes to backers to download the PDF from Crowdfundr. This would eliminate the need to email files direct or host files on a separate website.

    Tyler,

Sorry I didn’t have this information when we spoke, but we already have digital fulfillment in place. When you set up the reward, in the fulfillment tab you can select digital fulfillment, put in the URL where you have the asset stored and a description for it, and when the supporter’s method of payment is charged they will get the download link in their confirmation email automatically.

@Angie – I think you were interested in this too.

Hi again. So just to make sure. If I fill in the link field with the Google Drive URL to my digital file (viewing permissions granted of course), will it only show to people who have PAID/CONTRIBUTED?

The description copy isn’t clear, it says “A link to more info about the reward (optional)” which makes me think it’s actually a link to the product page or landing page on our own website (if we had one) 🤔

Would that link be public or just show after payment?

@Angie The link that you are referring to that’s on the Basic tab of the reward editor will take the supporter to page that you’re hosting that may have more information about the item. If you use that to link to the PDF, then anyone will see it without supporting you. It’s fully public, as you guessed.

If you look at the Shipping tab in the rewards editor, you’ll see a checkbox to select digital fulfillment. This link will be sent automatically via email to anyone who selects and pays for this reward, so this is where you should put the Google Drive link to your PDF. If it’s a Keep-it-all campaign, they will get the download link right away. If it’s an All-or-nothing, they will get it when the campaign funds.

Oh, excellent. Seen that tab at some point then just ignored it because I was in such a rush (all types of meanings) to launch my campaign 😂

Thanks for the extra info 🙏🏻
